I mean that's kinda been this shows whole deal from the start. Mando goes to a planet for something, sure i can help but first you have to do this for me!! Mando does the things and moves onto the next planet lather, rinse and repeat
I know, and it's getting old.

I'm pretty sure I said it before and I'll say it again, Filoni is basically making live-action cartoons with all his D+ endeavors. Not that I didn't enjoy Clone Wars and Rebels for what they were, I'm saying I expected more with these live-action D+ shows.

Very surprising to see Christopher Lloyd (Doc really got old!), but in a good way. I was less enthusiastic about the appearance of Jack Black who I largely can't stand. I was expecting some kind revelation/come-uppance at the end when Lloyd's character said, "nothing's been the same since he came," but nothing came of that. Thought perhaps he'd reveal a plot to placate the locals since he'd earlier said no one does any work and would be lost without the droids.
I enjoed this episode a TON!
The fight between Bo and Axe was well choreographed, filmed, and super cool, but a little too short for me!
The Darksabre passed to Bo Katan pretty much the way I expected it to, but thought it would be through fights upcoming rather than the rescue on Mandalore, but it made perfect sense. When they showed the recap at the beginning mentioning Goff stating how it must be earned, then showed her rescuing him for the computer-spider creature, I wondered if they going there as the pass off. Sure enough, that was it.
DJ1BigTymer may not like the Clone Wars references/characters. but I'm enjoying them immensely. I dug the entire "mystery droid hunting" sequence including seeing all the live battle droids of various kinds.
I'm also fine about how the plot is moving little by little towards the climax of Mandalore and what antagonists will be trying to stop them reclaiming their world. I don't want zap-bang, it's over. I want to enjoy the journey. Now, I don't want them to turn it into Iron Fist, season 1 where I'm yelling at the writers to get on with it, of course, but so far, I don't feel that way at all.

When the spider creature took Din my thought immediately went to the sabre. Then when she defeated the creature with the sabre I thought surely that's going to be significant and then nothing seemed to come of it. Now I realize why.

Have to admit, if Bo Katan is "The Mandalorian" I'm going to be rather disappointed. The show started out about Din Djarin and his unique relationship with Grogu. Now it seems to be morphing into them being more like side characters. Especially Grogu, who seems to be doing little more than bumble around like an 80's claymation charachter lately. Don't get me wrong. A Bo Katan centric story of the re-taking of Mandalore sounds awesome, but I still want more Mando and Grogu in THIS series.

This was just not on the mark for me. The guest 'stars' even the Doc just fell flat...that was a looong way to go just to have him hand over the dark sabre. I can get why a lot of folks might have enjoyed it, but I was expecting a bit more. Not a bad watch or anything but just fell sort of flat...even if I really like Bo and where they are heading with her character.

After today's episode I'll ask again; Just who is The Mandalorian? Din or Bo-Katan?

Plus, Sasha's back!!! And there all sorts of guest actors, including Christopher Lloyd, who can now add Star Wars to his resume.
Might be time to change the name of the show from singular to plural.

I've a feeling as Din and Bo Katan gather scattered Mandalorians, this show is going to become more and more about the Mandalorian people as a whole. We may get several "main" characters going forward, more like a Star Trek cast, though I'd think Din and Grogu will always be near the center of things like one of the ST Captains. Just a guess, obviously.

I'm wondering how well the gathered Mandalorians who aren't of the Watch are going to be able to interact with the "zealots" who don't accept them as real Mandalorians because they don't believe in never showing their face. Will oit lead to some kind of civil was between them? Will the Armorer actually convince them all to follow "The Way" as the Watch do? Or will they come to a compromise to repopulate Mandalore and drive out whatever weird creatures now inhabit it? If so, will that last once they've established themselves again on the planet?
Lots of questions about how this will go, and what Din/Grogu's part will be in making it happen.

Just remember…

Darth Fring is still out there, and it was made to look like Mandalorians did it (at least I think it was staged). That’s all going to dovetail imo
I admit I was expecting him to be in the Mandalorian camp. Was a bit surprised when he wasn't, but again, rather glad they aren't just wrapping things up neatly in a bow as quickly as possible. On reflection, I thought it would have been rather predictable and lazy writing to have him be found in the first group they encountered.

Just to add on:

I think it was staged because it’s just way too obvious. I don’t feel like a Mandalorian is just going to leave a hunk of beskar behind.

Hunting down a Force sensitive child who is under the protection of a Mandalorian? How do you get every eye in the galaxy looking?

When they caught Comissioner Helgait red-handed, I half expected him to yell, "Great Scott! And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling Mandalorians!"

I’m not gonna lie this episode felt like one of those old campy self gratifying TNG Shakespearean episodes. When Lizzo knighted grogu my 10yr old daughter busted out laughing, “what in the world is this?” Indeed
