Too baby with bath water - Rey was a great character in one and a half hood movies - certainly not Rey’s/Daisy’s fault for the bad parts of 8 and the inanity of 9
That’s like saying you wouldn’t want to see young Obi Wan bc of the prequels

And I don’t know what to say to the poster telling Filoni to ignore everything thing Rian Johnson has to say as a screen writer- he wrote one bad script (out of maybe 10 or so) and that was a SW script
How do you come to the conclusion that RJ should be shunned bc 1/10 of his output was bad
The script for ep 8 was CLEARLY a SW issue and not an RJ one
That movie is Kathleen Kennedys fault.
Johnson wanted to make a movie not connected to established characters, probably a murder mystery.
Kennedy also doesn't like the original trilogy characters and told Johnson to ruin Luke.

So I thought the beskar on the Gideon ship was planted
But now with the old Nite Owls/Axe in the mix, they’re the obvious suspect
Them snatching Grogu at the end to take him to Gideon seems like the play
- yes it’s been done, but that hasn’t stopped SW before
The twist that I hope they’re going for is that Bo has been behind this the whole time
We’ll see
This would make for a humongous plot hole because if she were behind it, she wouldn't have bothered saving Din from the creature on Mandalore. She just would have grabbed Grogu and delivered him to Gideon when he flew back to her to get her help.

Unless she needed the children of the watch too
I’ll admit it’s not a iron glad theory at this point 😬

They should rip off of Wheel of Time since that will never get a decent adaptation.

My pitch:

SW Movie set after the 9th movie. A clone of Vader is found but not force sensitive. You can write in that this is also how normal cloning works, and why Paps was was obsessed with making clones that also had the special sauce.

The movie will progress around Anakin doing a mundane job, and being a normal person. He has a lot of friends, and even a close friend that mimics his relationship with Obi-Wan. He is still watched by the Republic, a clone of a Skywalker.

Then a cult of Vader forms. This feels very Sithy/Empire. They try to kidnap him.

He goes on the run with a Republic version of the secret service. He starts having flashbacks via dreams of Vader. When he gets anger he even says things that only Anakin would know.

He ends up at the New Order on the run. He meets Rey. His powers continue to grow, and it's clear he can use the force now.

Eventually the cult does kidnap him, and tries to turn him back to into Vader. He fully accepts that he is Vader, and all the mistakes he made.

He sacrifices himself at the end of movie for Rey/Good guys/New Order.

This is probably better then whatever is going to be written, and the bonus of Hayden Christian being the main character.

P.S. At the climax of the movie, near the end. They need to show Anakin as fully realized Chosen One level of power. What he could have been all along.

The Rey movie is supposed to be like 15 years after the sequel trilogy. It'd going to be very divorced from all of that. Screw it. Give me the New Jedi Order. It's a necessary step to move forward.
Maybe with a talking Grogu? Just sayin....

Haven’t watched Chapter 23 yet, but I thought 22 was better than many have been saying. I really enjoyed it; you can tell it had great directing from Ms. Howard, and it felt like they upped the budget a bit too.

Bold prediction - they’re setting up Katie Sackhoff to be the new lead. Pedro’s contract is either up, or he’s planning to step away from the project.

On a side note…I like that they removed her helmet. Makes the character more relatable/human. Being able to see one of the lead Mandalorians’ facial expressions and reactions in just one episode has given the show a different feel.

The Jack Black and Lizzo cameos weren’t a distraction at all for me either. They blended in to me.

I think the show works best for me with the "monster of the week" format, and less as tied into a larger plot.

That being said, a couple of sort of distracting cameos this week. I'll take actors I didn't expect to ever see in Star Wars for 100, Alex.

Yeah, I know most Star Wars fans enjoy everything being connected to some larger plot or tie-in to the main saga, but the “Problem of the week” format seems to work well for this show for whatever reason.
