So I thought the beskar on the Gideon ship was planted
But now with the old Nite Owls/Axe in the mix, they’re the obvious suspect
Them snatching Grogu at the end to take him to Gideon seems like the play
- yes it’s been done, but that hasn’t stopped SW before
The twist that I hope they’re going for is that Bo has been behind this the whole time
We’ll see

Not sure if this was known, but seems important to this series:

While I'm sure he learned some good directing techniques from him, I hope Filoni jettisons any screenwriting lessons he got from Rian Johnson. He has a good eye as a director, but he's a shameless thief and a hack as a screenwriter. Also, "The Last Jedi" was an unforgiveable disaster that ruined what might have been a good trilogy had he not decided to be "a clever writer" and derail the whole plot.

Cool news, though! Should be a fun film.

You all know where I'm hoping all of this leads, of course...

They're also finally making the Luke Skywalker jedi master movie we always wanted to see...except that it's going to feature Rey instead.

Boo. Colour me not even remotely interested.

All this effort to make those lousy films more palatable is waste of time. Can we just jettison Rey and that whole disaster of a trilogy already?

Yes, the Clone Wars series was a cool side effect of the prequels, and it led to some of the fantastic series we're enjoying now, but its existence doesn't make Episode 1 and especially Episode 2 any better. They both still terrible movies loaded with horrible dialogue, bad acting, stolen plots, and stupid scenes that I don't care ever to see again.

So it doesn't matter what they do in Mandalorian, Bad Batch, Ahsoka, Andor, etc. to try and make the Emperor's clone make sense, "The Rise of Skywalker" will still be an unwatchable mess and a dismal failure as a film.

Instead, Disney studios should be concentrating on the things and characters that are working, like the Mandalorian and Andor.

Too baby with bath water - Rey was a great character in one and a half hood movies - certainly not Rey’s/Daisy’s fault for the bad parts of 8 and the inanity of 9
That’s like saying you wouldn’t want to see young Obi Wan bc of the prequels

And I don’t know what to say to the poster telling Filoni to ignore everything thing Rian Johnson has to say as a screen writer- he wrote one bad script (out of maybe 10 or so) and that was a SW script
How do you come to the conclusion that RJ should be shunned bc 1/10 of his output was bad
The script for ep 8 was CLEARLY a SW issue and not an RJ one

I don't think they have an interest in Grogu any longer, as far as experiments anyway.

So what scripts do you like?

The two Benoit Blanc films, while mildly fun, are blatant rip-offs of Agatha Christie novels, and then there's the horrid SW8. I'll admit my ignorance as to what other films he's written, but I'm not the movie goer I once was. Now it has to be something that really catches my interest for me to go a theatre for a film.

A fair point about Rey. Maybe they can salvage the character.

Looper was great. That's all I know about him.
