Nope, didn't cross my mind. After all, this fellow has hair on his head, so knew right away couldn't be him. :haha-rire-395:
Seriously, though, could tell right off he was also too young. This is the moment of Order 66 so we couldn't be looking at a younger version of him than Episode 3, and Mace decidedly looked older in that film than this fellow.
I said for a split second. He's behind that door like it's a big reveal and the first thing I see is a black man. There were rumors that Mace might've survived, I mean, falling down a large distance is not a death move.

(y) Just messing with you!

But yes, I remember an interview with George Lucas where he said that Samuel L. insisted that Mace would have survived the fall, and George said, "if Sam wants to believe Mace survived, he certainly can." So as far as Samuel L. Jackson is concerned, Mace could show up at any time.

They can remove their helmets, but only if they are not in the presence of anyone.

How do they define "presence"? Bo was still at the fire, everybody else walked off. If she is still eating when one of them walks back, but they are still 20+ yards away from her, does that count? Is there a certain distance required to remain within regulations? Or is there an element of intent? If Bo takes it off without realizing some creeper has snuck up behind her, does that count?

don't forget the 3 raptor younglings

They are going to raise those so they can ride them... right??

Enjoyed this one a lot.

Bringing Kelleren Beq from Jedi Temple Challenge to actual canon is pretty wild, but I'm happy Ahmed Best got a big hero moment. Jar-Jar was obviously terrible but he never deserved the hate that got thrown his way as a performer and it apparently took him to some dark places. Glad he got to be a badass here.

This Bo-Katan story is not going how I anticipated, but I like it. So far, she's buying into the Children of the Watch. It's like it's reactivated her Mandalorian pride. I absolutely thought her and The Armorer would be throwing insults at each other but instead she's actually learning from her to some extent. Very interesting.

How many Mandalorian youth did that bird thing eat?
Apparently, he was on the fence about doing it at all after all he'd been through. Interesting to me that also did the voice for the Clone Wars series even after all the backlash from Episode 1.
Glad to hear he's come out of the extreme emotional status that he sunk into because of it - and according to some articles that his Jedi character is going to continue on the show, not just be a one off moment.

Great episode! Excellent action sequences on the ground and in the air.
Nice character development continuing with Bo Katan, Paz, and the Armorer.
Paz Vizsla now an unwavering ally of Din. Well written speech scene.
It was pure geekdom heaven seeing all the different alien species from Clone Wars and Rebels brought out of animation into live action versions (was that supposed to be Zeb himself or just the same species?).
EDIT: End credits says it's Zeb! Reappearance of and reunion with Ezra must be on the way!!!

And bringing in so much!
Was not expecting the Armorer to have Bo Katan remove her helmet to be an ambassador to the rest of the scattered Mandalorians. Interesting turn of events. The Armorer obviously believes the Mythosaur is real.
Also, the Amrorer is a bad-arse! Brutal with that hammer.

And that final scene. Is Moff Gideon actually hiding among the group Din is with, pretending to be a Mandalorian, or is Bo Katan going to run into the group that is sheltering him (more likely)?

And finally: TIME TO RETAKE MANDALORE! YES!!

With the timeline being what it is, the appearance of Zeb, the anticipation of the Ahsoka series, Thrawn being in the works of that show (and possibly this one), some fanboy part of me is wishing that Favreau and Filoni are setting things up to give us a cinematic rendering of Timothy Zahn's Heir to the Empire trilogy.
I know it isn't likely, but all the elements are in place to do it, including the "deep fake" technology to have Luke, Leia, Han, etc. from the original films in the filmed version of it.
Obviously, there would be some added characters that didn't exist in the canon when Zahn wrote it (Ezra, Ahsoka, Zeb, Din Djarin, Bo Katan, and a few others), but it wouldn't be terribly difficult to write them into the narrative.
I know it's a stretch and most likely just a fantasy on my part that we'll ever see it put to film, but the opportunity is right there now.
