Damn, Bell had some scathing words for Nascar. And looking back, he's not wrong. If Byron gets passed by the 4 cars behind him that were involved in the blocking with 10-15 laps to go, Bell could have coasted to the finish instead of riding the wall. The race manipulation essentially forced him to drive harder than he needed to.

The whole thing is dirty and Byron shouldn't have been rewarded with a champ 4 spot imo. It's just annoying as heck that the beneficiary wasn't penalized anything at all.
 
Congrats to
Justin and Dale Jr. That was a hell of a comeback after having to go to a backup car and overcoming back to back penalties, catching a timely caution and finishing second to win the championship. Phoenix hasn’t been a great track, but it was a fun race tonight.

Looking forward to the Cup Championship race tomorrow. Definitely pulling for Reddick and 23XI. That would be a great story and sort of a middle finger at Nascar for the legal stuff they're dealing with.
 
Great day for Nascar. The contenders were up front all day, and while I was rooting for Blaney, Logano ran a great race and is a deserving champion. Congrats to Team Penske too.
 
Blaney here too!

The haters are pointing to Logano’s lowest average finish of any Cup champion to say the system is “broken” but sometimes a wild card team wins it all. It’s just part of the deal, especially when the wild card team is a hall of famer.

Yeah, it's sorta like when the Giants won the Super Bowl as a wild card. They weren't great during the regular season, but got hot at the right time. Joey ran a great race and we all knew before the race that he was just as capable of winning as the other 3.

I'm just relieved Byron didn't win. That would have been far more controversial. I imagine he would have gotten punted tho, lol. I thought he was going to have a big advantage with the timing of the last caution, but all of the other leaders pit, which you never want to happen when you're on 4 or 5 lap old tires. Went from an advantage to a disadvantage pretty quick.

Overall it was a typical NextGen race at Phoenix. Fun restarts, but overall racing was pretty boring.

I think Blaney would have won easily if that last caution hadn’t come out when it did - and the 12 got behind the 5. But you gotta race the race you get not the one you coulda had.

It’s also still pretty wild that Logano was out until Bowman didn’t make weight .

Yeah, what might have been if Bowman's team doesn't screw that up. Blaney likely wins it, but CBell would have given him a run for his money.
 
Dang, this race is less than two hours from my house - and I’m literally driving through Florence on Saturday, but I can’t stop to see it. 😫
