The Timing for the Steelers Game Couldn't be Worse (1 Viewer)

The Steelers can't cover our receivers, look for another huge day from Colston and one or two more deep balls to Devery. Of course they also blitz like crazy so I expect to see a lot of blockers and one on one coverage which is just begging Brees to loft up a high one for Colston. On defense Ben isn't the same guy, we all know this, but one thing he always did well was stay on his feet and avoid the sacks, he's going down much quicker this season and he's pressing to turn it around which is in turn causing more picks. That said, they are still a dangerous team and I would not be at all surprised for them to play spoiler down the road to a few fringe playoff teams (Carolina, Cincinnati.)

Terrible towels, ketchup bottles, who cares?

I 'aint skerd.

I expect us to come out the gates running, get Polamalou to commit to the run and burn them with play action down the seam. I expect Campbell to have a good game provided he catches the ball. Colston/Washington matchup should favor us heavily. It won't be easy, and there will be some points scored. Saints win by 14. Mark it down!

I look at this game as a challenge. We "worry" about every game that we play, let's stop worrying. If we are really going to be legitimate contenders we have to go out and play week after week and win games. We can't be afraid every week that we are going to get trapped, or we are going to fall apart, or not be prepared. We have to be confident in the team and expect another solid performance.

I for one am excited about this game!! GO SAINTS!

Based on Nothing but my gutt prediction:

I see the Saints winning 27-17.

One Pitt TD comes off a deep ball to Hines Ward the other comes on a long sustained drive. Colston gets one, Deuce gets one, and Bush (or horn) gets one.

I think McKenzie matches up well with Hines Ward. Both are physical and aren't the fastest guys in the world tho. Ward runs crisp routes and has hands like glue. Should be interesting matchup...

Why do we always end up playing "trap" games? Not only do we play the Steelers, but next week we play the Bengals, who are also struggling, in the Dome. This never happens to the Falcons or Panthers.

I have the same bad feeling. But it depends on which Steeler team shows up.

The one that destroyed the Chiefs 41-0

or

The one that lost to the Raiders!!

I think people who are worried about this game refuse to believe how good the saints are, I have no doubt in my mind we will win this game, but if we lose its not because were not a good team the steelers are down, but not if we fear the steelers its a good thing, there an NFL we sleep on them and we lose look at the dolphins and bears game.

Holy run-on sentence Batman!

They are not a 2-6 team and the players have to face it as such. the have been playing bad, but anytime they can turn it around and if they are not careful it will be against us.

What will be, will be. The Steelers are no more/less dangerous now than they've ever been. There a good team, that is playing bad football. Is this the week that they play a clean game? Maybe, maybe not.
I think every team in the league is still hungry. The Saints are tasting the champagne right now and see a title on the horizon. So I truly don't think they will over look anyone. Pitt wants to win, but they've wanted to win all season long.
At the end of the day, we simply need to do what we do best. Defensively we must stop their running game. We also need to crack Big Ben a few times along the way. Offensively we need to move the chains and score some points. Biggest factor is protecting Brees and the football.

I agree. Look, I think the Saints are a very good team but so are the Steelers (despite their crummy record). Remember the Ravens were supposed to be a team circling the drain. They'd fired their O co ordinator, McNair was coming off an injury, the Saints were "unbeatable" at home. That didn't work out too well now, did it? I like all the confidence but this is no "gimme" game.......

You know what they say about sleeping dogs dontcha?

come out scoring with loads of t.o.p. and we can take the crowd out. pressure ben and i think he cracks. do this and this game is in the bag.

i think the crowd can decide this game if we let pitt stay in it. pitt wants a win bad (would love to smack the darling saints in the mouth) and the crowd can pump them up. but after last weeks game, i think its nothing this team cant overcome with smart play.

saints 27
steelers 13

Another interesting tidbit that makes you go hmmm.

Total Offense:

Pitt - 6th, NO - 7th

Total Defense:

Pitt - 8th, NO - 10th

Turnover Diff:

NO - 24th (-3), Pitt (-11) 32nd

As Payton (and every other coach for that matter) keeps emphasizing, turnovers are killers.
