To be fair, I’m not sure a game he played with both starting guards out with injury, and our starting wing (and best shooter) tore his labrum 1 minute into the game is a great example of what a team could look like with Zion as the primary option. This team ain’t winning shirt with Z as the primary option…. I’m sorry I just don’t see what yall are seeing.

Point is, you can call Z the first option, secondary or whatever you want....he ain't the reason CJ can't toss the ball into the ocean at crunch time, or that while Jose is a fun, novelty player, he's wildly inconsistent, and that outside of Trey, they don't have any real threats to make 3's consistently. Perhaps Z has his share of turnovers, but he is not the reason when they turn the ball over 20 times a game, and wilt when defensive pressure intensifies or have overall lapses on D. He's not the reason they give up on young talent because it looks like they're not developing, only to see them flourish when they get to another team. You cannot look at Houston or OKC and say, as long as we're going with Z, we can never be those teams. The Pels could be those teams or comparable with Z..... if they had the players in the rotation that those guys have. They don't have the coaching, players and/or player development. If you want to say you would like the roster makeup to be different, that's fair, but Z ain't the reason this team plays so poorly so often. To be fair, I didn't see it when they were relatively healthy and playing together....
Yeah I agree. He's a second option on a play in team with that roster and coaching staff. But a healthy Zion is not the reason that team is only a play in team at best. I completely agree with you about his game and injury history, and I question his longevity, as you do . Maybe he has to take so many shots because the other guys are too ineffective too often. Add a Chet Holmgren, backed up by Hartenstein, Isaiha Joe, Caruso, one or two of those Houston guys, Knicks guys, like a Brunson ... and a competent coaching staff than Z is a fine piece. of the puzzle. We can run the injury excuse train or whatever for him all day....
Or the he don't have enough consistent shooters excuse around him as well...
This dude has been here for 5 seasons now.... No matter what health or shooting or line up is around him...
He's an injury prone - One Trick - No Shot to speak of - Player that has reached his peak, and will not elevate this team no matter who is put around him. He's a dinosaur player with a ton of physical talent that lives in the modern era of versatile elite players that have great variance in their games...
As long as he's taking 1/4 to 1/5 of the teams' total shots... and ZERO 3s... This math don't work.
We saw what his ceiling was last year before he was injured (again).... That ceiling is a secondary option on a "play in" team. Time to move on.
Yeah I think it's quite likely that he could be playing but we don't want to drop our lottery chances any further.I’m confused, shutting him down seems to be the correct call with our lottery odds being what they are.
Cool. All Signs Currently Point To Zion Williamson Being The Next Star To Hit The NBA's Trade Market Later This Summer

I just don't think we would get anything that makes it worth our while. Like I said before, I am convinced he would have played more this year after the initial injury if we had something to play for.Cool.
Honestly, I wouldn’t be mad. Sure he has shown flashes of brilliance in his time here, but he has been on the court so infrequently that you can’t count on him being more than a question.
Once bitten, twice shy.
I’m not a fan of late 1st round picks either, which is why I hated the Jrue trade. Trading a proven talent for a scratch off is foolish.I just don't think we would get anything that makes it worth our while. He is in the best shape of his career by far...unless the offer is just something that really moves the needle, I would rather keep him. There just isn't much available in FA this offseason that will help us. The two top rated potential FAs are Lebron and Kyrie Irving.
I don't think we would get enough talent in a trade and I am not interested in first round picks in the back part of the draft
