This game is a microcosm of why Dennis Allen will not last as Head Coach!!!! (1 Viewer)

Does it matter? Do you think Gayle Benson will go out and pay over odds for a premier head coach? Do you think Mickey Loomis will trust a young college coach/coordinator as a bold hire (one that will put Loomis on the hot seat for making a big decision)? I think Sean Payton left at the right time, understanding how impossible it is for an organization to be fresh and renewed with the same leadership. Frankly big changes need to be made, but I seriously doubt Gayle is the type to do that. She wasn't a risk taker like Tom Benson, who invested his own money into the NFL with the Saints. She got it all by marriage, and regardless of how deep her connections to NOLA are and her love of this place the Saints are not nearly as essential in her computing of that love as say, the diocese. The Saints are her business, not her passion.

Changes will happen, but I would be surprised if they were innovative or fantastic. And that is what we need now more than ever.

Edit: this is a bit of my frustration talking. Gayle has paid in the past (and continues to do so with players) but the general vibe I draw from how Payton's leaving has been handled is one of overwhelming conservatism. It feels like middle management is in charge, and the company is doomed by small cuts now.

Allen's response to everything...

"We'll look at the tape."

Pete didn’t drop passes on 3rd down. DA didn’t fumble inside the 5.

coaches are lowest paid people on this team and the guys making the big bucks did not perform well today.
And if you think coaching had nothing to do with todays game, your delusional

Had Loomis conducted a real head coach search we could've at least talk to Brian Flores. Whom I thought had done an good job in Miami, but since he called out the owner for paying to lose games I guess that search began mute. Allen was better than all of them according to Loomis. Allen sucked in Oakland and he's doing the same thing here. Look at his demeanor on the Sidelines he screams and hollers at the end after the interception thrown by Winston, but consoled Carr on his dismal play. Allen should be gone by daybreak.

Third and long sack. The end of half fumble. ak stepping out early like Ingram last year. Bad kick return after bad kick return. Just things you can't do in certain situations. Can't keep doin what your doin.

And all of this didn't start until DA became coach. This team is progressively getting worse under him
Exactly. It’s a mindset/ attitude. The team has adopted it. Prentice dropped a drive killing pass and then fumbles inside the 10 at the end of the 1st half. He ends up coming back in the game later. Sit him. Hold him accountable. It pains me to say I don’t care what happens this year. I’m at that point. I’m 56 yrs old and have never felt this way about a Saints team.

Dennis Allen is a very good defensive coordinator. Maybe even borderline great. But as a Head Coach....he's not the answer. It's getting to the point where it would be more fun to see the defense on the field the entire game and if they can prevent the other team from scoring 20 points then it should count as a Saints win.

Back to reality though...Dennis Allen has to realize that you can't win consistenly in today's NFL kicking field goals. This is not the days of the Steel Curtain and the Purple People Eaters. He wanted Derek Carr on the team so we could average just over 15 points per game??? We could have kept Andy Dalton for that!!!!!!!!!
This is not all on Carmichael. After being around Sean Payton all these years he didn't forget how to call offense. He is doing what Allen wants. Which is calling conservative safe crap and leaning too much on the defense who just got lit up by Baker Mayfield, whom arguably through 4 games is the true best QB in the NFC South and it isn't even close!!!!
Sad but true

I am done watching unless I see some change at coaching staff. Someone needs to go. I don't really care if we win/loss anymore games. I have seen enough to know that the coaching staff is horrible. I don't want to see DC and company limp to another 7-10 record.

I mean if I was DC, I would fire Pete and give someone else a shot. It really can't get much worse. Don't get me wrong. I think DC is a bad head coach, but if he want's a shot at keeping his job he needs to make a change fast.

I honestly just hope we implode, leave no doubt that Loomis must fire these jokers and maybe we even get a high enough draft pick to make a stab at a QB.
