LA Story was the beginning of the end - trying to be Woody Allen was not the play

I absolutely loved LA Story the first time I saw it , and for several years afterward… But having re watched it fairly recently, I think it’s really funny in the first like 20 or 30 minutes of the movie… But then it falls apart in the middle and for the last half with all of the supernatural fantasy messages on the billboard stuff .

i REALLY wanted to like it - he was one of my absolute favorites at that time - i had most, if not all, of his albums - watched all of his specials
i just deflated watching LA Story

I find it near impossible to believe that I thought King Tut was hilarious when he came out with it, after watching it now.....

I still find it hilarious.

Appropriate for SR, one of my favorite sports movies as I was coming of age when all this actually happened.

We watched this as a football team (maybe we were 10 or so)
Incredibly compelling movie that does NOT hold up
Tried to watch it again a few years ago and man did it lean into every afternoon movie of the week habit
