Am in the only one who would like to see Derek Carr traded away tomorrow? We need to start this house cleaning now. This could happen, but i am not sure anyone would take DC......sadly

I don't think it's possible to do that without taking a significant salary hit.

Best case is the new head coach will use Carr as a place holder for next year.

We have to clear up other veteran player's salary going into 2026. Carr at best is a decent back up like Andy Dalton or Garner Minshew, able to get some wins to somewhat make 2025 more tolerable

The team takes it's lumps but gets a few surprise wins, while future Qb sits on the bench be it Rattler or another drafted QB.


I believe the selling point to the new head coach

" Next year will be tough clearing the salary cap, but you have a veteran QB, Kamara, Hill at your disposal. Also a top draft pick that you can get your guy or trade down for extra picks "


We might not be an attractive of a market for the top contenders like Ben Johnson, but keep in mind, there are only 32 of these positions. There are some candidates wanting to be here and not use us as a bargaining chip for other franchises

Remember, we got one of the franchise's greatest coaches and this was coming off a year after Huricane Katrina. Keep in mind before 2005, the Saints weren't considered an ideal spot to begin with.

it would make sense to bench Carr and let the rookies fight it out. That way it wont appear like we're tanking and we can see if we need to take a QB this draft.

There is 11 years of evidence on Carr. He is aging and probably close to the end. I'd rather see what Rattler and haener can do. Hopefully KK employs a no holds barred offense. I'm done with the play it safe offense DA favors

Cap penalty makes him untradeable. I mean Payton cut Russ and ate 89 mil or something crazy like that, but Carr's penalty is way bigger. If you're willing to eat that cap hit then I'm 100% onboard. you're not competing for a title in the next couple years anyway. Eat all the penalties you can eat and trade/cut who you can so we can start this rebuild.

Carr's is not more than $89 million. It is just difficult due to our cap situation.
