I wonder which model of the Sidewinder. they are providing. Then I got to thinking about it and while I knew it has been used at least since the Vietnam war I didn't realize it has been in production since 1956! The first use was by Taiwan in '58 during skirmishes with the ROC. The first models were the AIM-9b and they are now up to the AIM-9x! Early this year the U.S. used some to shoot down the balloons that were over flying the U.S. and Canada. There has even been cases were they were able to prove that later versions can be used in a air to ground mode to attack tanks.
