Ukraine (17 Viewers)

Regardless of what you think about Ryan he is right about this and has been saying it for a long time.

"Indicators and warnings that Ukraine would be attacked were reaching Western capitals from July 2021, with confidence hardening from September. By December the US and UK intelligence communities were sufficiently confident to make their conclusions public, but it was not until January 2022 that serious efforts were made to try to equip Ukraine, by which time the range of systems that could be provided with enough time left to offer training on them was narrow."

Don’t know who David D is, but he comes across as an arse. Hertling has been wrong before. He was claiming for a while there that the engine in the M1 only ran on jet fuel.
It's been a minute since I last looked, but I think that's at least partially correct. Some do run only on jet fuel. I just don't recall which ones specifically. There are several iterations of the M1.

They were designed from the outset to be multifuel. A turbine can run on pretty much anything flammable. That being said, they will run more efficiently on certain types of fuel. Think JP8 here. They could run on alcohol, but will consume much more of that due to the Btu of that. I would expect an armored officer to know that. But he probably just has an officer’s knowledge of that.

If there's significant reduction in capability or force projection based on fuel, would a US Gen. consider alterative fuels unviable?
