Didn't you see me say before that old A-10's which have new wings would make outstanding firefighting tankers for our forest fighters to use. There is enough of them to justify the cost of setting up a project to rebiuld them for that purpose.

Now why would you want to waste them for suicide attacks which would be knocked down as readily as those pretty useless Shahed drones from Iran are?

Would it though? Amongst other issues, pilots and technicians would have to retrain on them, I imagine military planes are a totally different beast than civilian versions. And its not just the airframe, its the engine, avionics, etc. So the TCO could quickly add up.

Not sure what the last 25 years of warfare has taught the US, but if they listened to those on ground, the quickest way to get mired down is to apply "rules/restrictions to engagement"

There is no "clean war" ever. AS much as we would like to have "pinpoint precision" munitions etc, it doesnt matter. It will always be messy. And if you are attempting to fight with one hand tied behind your back, then you are sealing your fate pretty much.

Let Ukraine do their way. THEY were invaded. THEY are fighting for their very existence and know way better than anyone, the stakes involved. GEt the !@#!#@ out the way.
