What has to improve most for Saints to have a successful 2023 season? (1 Viewer)

To answer this important question, the team over at Cal Tech have put together the latest AI research to be able to collate, combine and analyse thousands of SR.com posts and the reactions recorded within them, turning these into solid gold instructions for the 2023 New Orleans Saints and their path to ultimate victory.

I give you CHRIS, the Cybernetic Heuristic Reaction Indexing System, and it's inescapable conclusions:-

1. Run the damn ball
2. Stop running the damn ball so much
3. Fire Pete
4. Fire DA
5. Tank for a QB in next year's draft
6. Sign and trade for every high calibre player who might be available
7. On low priced, one year "prove it deals"
8. But also don't "kick the can down the road"
9. And don't trade any future picks
10. Sign all them Tulane boys
11. And them LSU boys
12. Cut all those bums filling up that depth chart
13. Moar WRs.
14. Always moar WRs.

More takeaways
More explosive plays
Fewer injuries

Could say this for any team, but we were on the wrong end of the spectrum on all three categories.

Oline. Dline too but the biggest problem we've had for the last three years has been playing with a MASH unit line.

Honorable mention is fumbles at crucial points in the game.

stop the run! Teams were running it down our throats and will continue to do so unless we show them it isn’t an option. When our defense was dominant, the run defense was a brick wall.

We’ve missed in the first a lot recently. That’s where you are suppose to get gamechanging players. We really haven’t had that since 2017. We have a solid team, but most of our superstars are aging. Hopefully Olave could be one of those types of players. I think that the rookies from this class can be solid contributors, but superstars? That’s hard to envision considering that they weren’t superstars at the college level.

For me it's a tie between better luck with injuries and more explosiveness leading to more points scored on offense.

Believe it or not I felt even though lapses occurred the Defense played well overall. Even without yielding alot of turnovers they had their moments stopping teams when it mattered most minus the Bengals game.
Have to echo these sentiments.

Health is number one.
We have been a mess on the injury side of things the last few seasons. Last year was a really tough pill to swallow because if Latt doesn’t go down, I think we win the South.

I feel like the Payton/Carmichael offense that we got so accustomed to wasn’t so much about explosiveness and more about rhythm and flow.

Carmichael seemed to struggle with getting a “groove” going in a game - but he does have the ability to diagnose a defense and call a good game for the scripted plays. Go back and watch the first series of the Philly game. That was a darn-near perfect series. So I think Pete can do it - I just hope that Carr makes him comfortable enough to come out of his shell.

I strangely optimistic about this season. I honestly can’t remember a season that I’ve been this eager to have start.

I know i’m probably setting myself up for a let down - but for now, I’m pretty hyped!
