Where is Deuce Windham? (1 Viewer)

Yep. It’s just as terrible now as it was then. Yuck. Disgusting take about #9.
Don’t understand the context here. But I know he said it was the 1 year anniversary death of his fathers , i saw him say he was taking a few mental days. Also his YT channel got banned again smh.

Who’s arguing that? They’re all just men who play a child’s game, for millions. Why anyone would think otherwise is funny to me….having said that, it’s ok to trash a person for his best days being behind him? Especially after all he’s done for this organization, and us fans?

That’s what’s in question. Not his abilities or lack there of.
It doesn’t bother me. It also doesn’t bother me that you choose not to listen to him because he said that. That’s your choice. I just answered his question and made a statement. I do believe people around here are way too sensitive about criticism of Brees and the team in general.

I’m not a regular listener of deuce windhams podcast, I do listen occasionally. He says things I don’t agree with often. I still listen when I’m in the mood.

Make no mistake about though, NFL players aren’t playing for you or a city. Their playing to make millions and put their names in the conversation to be one of the best at what they do.

I totally forgot about the Brees thing. Yeah context is key, as far as I know he has always been a fan first & he was drinking and emotional about the Bucs loss & ranted a little about Brees’ awful performance. He quickly apologized as well and he puts out great content on a weekly basis so He has my support. You could dig up far worse things said about Drew in our weekly game day board after any poor performance.

Oh I listen to him occasionally too, I don’t expect folks to always feel how I do. And I agree on the sensitivity also.

Oh I have no doubt they don’t play for us or the city. Only a fool would believe that. Just as it takes a fool to worship anyone who plays a child’s game for millions of dollars. Just my opinions.

Then it sounds like we’re in the same place on this.

Of course some players are playing for the city. It can be both. The play for money/accolades which is normal, and they give back to the city they represent. Certainly not all, or even most, but Drew Brees and Reggie Bush were vocal and active in their support of the city of New Orleans after Katrina, and they've been supportive since then. They, among others, talk about the support the fans have given to the team for a lot of years. Some people may ignore or dismiss that, but I don't. They're human. Capable of screwing up, and also capable of doing a lot of good.

The tweet in question was a classless one, and for a guy who puts himself out there, he deserves criticism for the comments imo. It doesn't affect my personal life, but I does affect my view of his takes.

Good points. I shouldn’t have used a blanket statement as there are always exceptions.

I think context always matters. For him to be a fan and not understand the blowback doesn't make sense. I do think there was a little diety worship that made some people feel like Drew was beyond criticism in the last few years of his career.

Call me sensitive but I thought the comment was classless and completely out of line for not only a Saints fan but an individual attempting to be a professional in sports media.

Haven't paid attention to anything he's posted, or any content of his posted since.

Everyone knew Drew's shortcomings '17-'20. We were still making it work, and the NFL robbed us from our legitimate last chance at a superbowl in 18. After 19 we knew it was over, and in 20 it was his farewell season, which guess what? We owed him a farewell season after everything he's done for not only this franchise but this city and region.

I was as furious as anyone that we didn't beat the Bucs. A lot of things went against us for that to happen, including Drew having a poor game. But he was playing through multiple injuries. Harris went out, Jared Cook fumbled as we were going up 2 scores, and we gave the game away.

Even when Drew has significant fault, I'd never come close to having that disrespectful of a thought about the best and most iconic player in our franchise's history. To see someone trying to make it as an analyst covering our team throw that kinda disrespect publicly? Nah, not interested in his work.

Wonderful points and post.
Sadly I think it’s a reflection of society in general now. I’d like to hope stuff like that, and those who resort to stuff like that, are in the minority, but I’m not so sure anymore.

They're definitely in the minority, it's a loud, vocal minority tho.
