Why C.J. Stroud is a better pick than Bryce Young. (1 Viewer)

Unless you're absolutely sold on Stroud with everything else I can't see taking him over Young with a differential in scores there like that and probability that it matters.
Luckily, for us Brandon, as Saints fans we don’t have to worry or be too concerned about deciding which one of these two, college superstars to pick and hope to God we’ve made the “right one” because if we get a good one, maybe they turn out to have decent career, that’s going to determine the trajectory and levels of success an franchise is going to attain. We have a 4x Pro-Bowl QB in Derek Carr that will satisfy our QB situation in the short-to-medium term and put off a situation like this for us for 3-4 years

Yeah, when are you going to get on and put that N/S tag on the thread like I suggested @liveoakh ? ;)

Bryce Young is fools gold. He isn't even a top ten pick. Any team drafting this kid in the top ten is rolling the dice. Despite what the talking heads have to say, he is a risk to bust out. They said the same thing about Zach Wilson when I called him a bust, even before he was even drafted by the Jets.

Please don't drive by and face palm my post like a coward, at least leave a commit, why you think I am wrong.

Sorry , In 17yrs as a starter DB missed 7 games due to injury. Can't get much more durable than that
Nobody reads my post, I said he wasn't durable early. He didn't have the weight and mature muscle when he went down w/ Tommy johns rotator cuff. He was indeed the Iron man most of his time here. I was saying Bryce Young at 5'10" 205 (dripping wet) w/ a slight build would have a hard time not getting hurt starting for a bad team.

To be honest, I smell bust on Young. I'm not afraid to say it. He is 5'10" 205 (maybe) with a frame that can't put on weight, with Drew's brain, Baker May field's arm, and Kyler Murry's height.

Yeah, I read your post in the 1st 5 yrs as a starter ( I'd consider that early in his 20yr career ) he missed a total of 5 games due to injury. And he missed those in 1 season. So again your statement is incorrect

Thank you for proving my point. Drew (though talented) wasn't durable early, and had mixed results. Btw......Drew weighed in at 6'1" and a legit 213lbs, a full 3 inches taller. And a few pounds heaver than Young.
Drew Brees is not 6 1 or 213 and he is maybe 5'11 and a half definitely not 6 1

When these players get picked so high they should send gifts to all of the media pundits who are beating the drums for them and are the main reason they will get drafted so high. A lot of the teams actually buy into what the Mel Kiper’s of the world have to say and not trust their own scouts. Personally I am not sold on any of the QB prospects this draft.

Wasn't durable early? Can you provide some examples? Because, the only thing I can think of was the shoulder injury at SD, which only led to one missed start. He didn't have one at NO until 2014, so......where is this "wasn't durable early" thing coming from?

As for the mixed results, he was running a Shottenheimer offense in SanDiego, which wasn't a great fit for DB.

I think you are under appreciating the newer QB rules and treatment. If Young is smart which all indicators support, then he won't take the kind of hits that formed the logic about size.

The concern about being able to see the field is valid. It has been proven by multiple QB's to be a surmountable issue.

Lying season.
