This dude has got to be mental to kill her (presumably) and then use her debit card.

Use the card of the person you just killed leaving a "paper trail" of your involvement in her death by separating her from her card (he had experience of separating her from her ID so I guess he didn't give that a thought). He's smart criminal now the longer this goes on, but they'll find him eventually.

Or evidence that she, in fact, was financially subsidizing the whole trip so if his whole MO was to control her 100% even though she had her own resources she could have gotten away from him, he succeeded.

I haven't really been following it at all outside this thread, but the way this has all panned out so far, no telling what he's thinking. Really just a random thought I had about the card. But your comment makes sense too.

Well...at least that is a case for it being Third degree murder/voluntary manslaughter instead of First degree murder (though Chuck would have to confirm). They both looked unhinged, and it wouldn't be surprising if he just flew off the handle and killed her...I could buy that story.
