That's why I think being single is the right life style, your liabilities are significantly less, and you won't be blamed for ruining someone else's life.

Now if Brian would of stayed single, went to school, and found a good job, none of this stuff would of went down.
A sick sad world isn't reason to live a single lifestyle. There are other good reasons for it, but, someone killing their spouse doesn't mean marriage is bad. Single people are just as capable of violence to other people.

We don't know that none of this wouldn't have happened had he been single. Or even a good job or whatever. He probably wasn't all there mentally and that has nothing to do with marital or dating status.

There are advantages and disadvantages to both being single or in a committed relationship.

i had a coworker who's wife was killed by Derrick Todd Lee.
For months, he was the main suspect because they found her dairy about how much they fought and how much she hated him. so they.told all his family, her family their friends neighbors and everyone else he was guilty and they knew he did it, they just didn't have the hard evidence. when DNA came back from the skin found under her fingernails wasn't his, you would think they would have apologized. nope, they told him he was a wife beater and deserved everything he went through.
so even if law enforcement doesn't find any proof the parents knew, I doubt they'll say as much..
Have you listened to the “You’re Wrong About” podcast about this case?

I haven't. I may have to check it out, would you happen to have a link to it?
He was an inspector here at the plant for a while about 5 years ago. His wife's name was Geryln Desoto, I think she was DTL first or second (known) victim. When he told me the story, i was speechless. I had to look it up to verify to make sure he wasn't BSing me.

Just a tragic case. The presumed murderer being dead doesn’t quite seem like justice for people somehow. I personally highly doubt that the parents had anything to do with the murder. I’m pretty sure they knew their son killed Gabby. Either that or they were impossibly naive, gullible, in denial, and/or stupid.

They win the award for really cruddy human being. Doubtful that they’ll get legal punishment. It’s not against the law to really suck at being a human (see Goodell…though of course not on the same level). They failed to raise a functioning son who ended up killing someone. They then enable same son. They then allow same son to kill himself. I mean…they have failed on every level. But I don’t necessarily think that they deserve to have there son kill himself…come on people…nobody deserves that.

I think one of the more interesting things about this case after Brian's remains were found was that the NPPD did infact install hidden cameras to watch the Laundrie house. One camera was placed in the neighbors backyard who was to the back of the Laundrie residence. Apparently this camera was installed after Brian went missing. There was another hidden cam installed in a dumpster down the street before Brian went missing. Newsnation reporter that stands outside the Laundries noticed the backyard hidden cam over a month ago and chose not to report on it so he didn't harm the investigation.

honestly, i think this is the only interesting part of the story - now that the mystery is done, girls falling in love with psychos or baby men unable to control their rage is the dominant queries - but i think the 'what do you do when your son tells you he killed someone?' is WAY more interesting and the only thing i'd pay much attention to the reporting on ( i can catch any of umpteen shows on netflix if i wanted to scratch the other itches)

The big question is, did they "find themselves"? Seems like they found out that they were the same people who initially left in that van, and their own personality flaws got each of them killed in dramatic fashion. A young, naive woman who is dependent on a manipulating, dirtbag boyfriend who is capable of killing someone. It's heartbreaking, but I do think that there is lots that can be learned from this case...especially for young women. He is who you think he is...and people don't change. The little change that does happen occurs over decades, and to small degrees.

We were having this dicussion at work the other day.
What you would do if you were his parents. Unless you have been in that situation, it is hard to say I would do x. I think its in a parents nature to try to protect their children, even when things like this happen. Does it excuse them of being shirty people, nope. But it does show human nature. On the show I Almost Got Away With it, the mom usually helps the fugitive out in some way, even if its minor like giving them a few bucks or just not telling police they had seen or talked to them.
Like i said its a shirty thing to do, and isn't an excuse.
Not saying they did any of this, just a rambling.

i think for some there is an intertwining of (compromised?) brain chemistries - their attraction to each other is like a dangerous narcotic. and beating that addiction requires great intervention

then i think there are situations with hidden faultlines - everything seems normalish on the surface but then the right pressure point is struck and all **** breaks loose
