2022 NBA PLAYOFFS THREAD (2 Viewers)

Unfortunately I’m thinking Chris Paul is going to retire after this season and he’s doing it without a championship ring which kind of makes it sweet
I dont think so. Yes he is already stupid rich... but he would be walking away from ~$88 million dollars if he retired. Its also not like he has fallen apart and become a terrible player either.

He has made ~$330 mil in salary thus far in his career. He can increase that by 25% playing three more seasons.

I’m very proud of this Pelicans team . I think they shocked lots of people and the media. They fought and flustered Phoenix. No one expected that. We may not have won the series but if this young team learns from this experience plus get Zion back full time we can be very dangerous next season. It was a first step for the Pelicans even though we did not win the series.

I didn't realize Devin Booker played last night. That's good, because I don't want hear any of their excuses during the Mavs series. I'm thinking Chris Paul will be defended primary by Dorian Finney-Smith since he's the closest the Mavs have to a lockdown defender. Finney-Smith had Donovan Mitchell crediting him for his defense in the Utah series. I'm sure the Mavs are well aware of Chris Paul's dirty antics, and I wouldn't be the least disappointed for a Mavs reserve to be subbed in to "teach" Paul a lesson on dirty play. But I can't see Jason Kidd doing that intentionally.

For sure - and it was obvious during the playoffs that this team plays hard for each other and for their coach. Seeing Willie Green in tears last night just shows how much he wants it, and seeing these kinds of things from a young pro team is very encouraging. Teams can have players and talent, but absent overwhelming talent (that you sometimes see in the NBA) success can often come from these intangibles. Plus you have to give the front office high grades for what they put together in a year that they could have chalked up to rebuilding.

So much to look forward to . . .

It’s a hard series for me in that Doncic is whinier than the entirety of the Suns

That’s where I’m at. In a series with both CP3 and Luka, I’m pulling for an earthquake to swallow the arena.

I’m pulling for the gooder evil, give me the Bucks to repeat.

I don't know the fault line status of the greater Phoenix area, but unfortunately for you, the possibility of this happening in downtown Dallas is pretty much impossible. But good luck I guess.

Unfortunately, I don't think Zion will be a part of the team's future. I think the whole benching thing has been to save him for trading him before next season starts...

And I would fire Griff on the spot if he did.
