Isn’t that trajectory the “right up the river” path that is supposed to be like super bad? Or is it a bit too west?

If it was going to be a Cat 3+, yeah. This looks like it's going to be a rain maker, not a "storm surge up the river" kind of storm.Isn’t that trajectory the “right up the river” path that is supposed to be like super bad? Or is it a bit too west?
My husband used to say that all the time (you know, I suspect everyone who grew up during the time of Betsy became hurricane "experts" from years of watching and listening to Nash). He doesn't really say that anymore after Katrina.Isn’t that trajectory the “right up the river” path that is supposed to be like super bad?
I couldn't remember exactly what the conditions were, thanksIf it was going to be a Cat 3+, yeah. This looks like it's going to be a rain maker, not a "storm surge up the river" kind of storm.
Yeah, it's still far out, but the intensity forecast has increased from just last night, and the cones have been super accurate the last few seasons. Also, it's late in the season, but Zeta came right overhead as a Cat 2/3, an that was the last week of October. Some tracks having it fizzling out before it hits land.
It will meet lots of wind sheer and cooler waters once in the Gulf.Yeah, it's still far out, but the intensity forecast has increased from just last night, and the cones have been super accurate the last few seasons. Something's coming here. What or how big it'll be is yet to be seen.
The current track does bring the storm near Louisiana and Mississippi on Friday into Saturday, but there remains a lot of uncertainty on how strong the storm will be once it nears the northern Gulf. If it weakens fast enough there might not be much left of it to bring impacts. Based on the current forecast, our concern level remains very low, although we could see some rain and stronger winds later this week.
That's what the Met on WWL said this morning. Gulf waters are starting to cool since the days haveIt will meet lots of wind sheer and cooler waters once in the Gulf.
