It looks like the Gulf of Mexico will likely spawn the first named tropical storm of the season. If so, it will be named Alberto, and it will be moving into the Mexican coastline. However it appears that the Texas coastline from Brownsville to Houston will receive a great impact from higher tides and relentless rain, which is expected to cause widespread flooding all along the Texas coast.

I hate it for the puppies though. Had to walk them in drizzle earlier since it’s the best we have right now

On the positive side, the rain isn’t heavy enough to be a huge pain, so at least it’s keeping the Sun at bay

Anyone on the gulf coast, it may be time to make sure you have your hurricane stuff ready to roll as things could be getting active in the next 10-14 days. Long way out and zero certainty on whether these waves will form or where they will go but ensembles are showing the possibility of things getting cranked up.
