2024 Tropical Weather Thread (1 Viewer)

I, along with everyone else, expected a huge year of hurricanes. I agree with you. Weather channel is desperate for some weather news so they can let their diva personalities roam free.

I, for one, am so glad this egotistical, self-righteous shmuck of a meteorologist got exposed as the histrionic, wish-casting fraud he was and most rational, reasonable people can mock and taunt how stupid and silly he looked here.

I'm clearly guilty of schadenfruede against how sensationalist, holier-than-thou, elitist the Weather Channel comes across as a network and how a few of their analysts, commentators, and experts almost revel and piss in their pants about how fantastic and wonderful it is to cover some Cat 5 Hurricane hitting some city like Wilmington, NC, or Lake Charles, La. and not have their arses stick around for the next 2-3 years while citizens living in those towns have to slowly pick up the pieces of their wrecked lives those same hurricanes destroyed.

Like Hurricane Michael did with Panama City, Florida almost 6 years ago in October 2018 and how many people who live along the Florida Panhandle still confide to me the area still hasn't fully recovered and how completely massive and total the devastation was.

Are we going to have a Fall this year?!
I’m sitting outside and there’s some fluffy clouds, sunshine, a cool breeze, and the temp is 75. Pretty awesome.
Going to be in the 70’s during the day and 50’s at night here. We’ve had zilch tropical weather

So how bad are we expecting this system in the gulf to be? Current tracks have it coming up the Sabine River middle of next week, which I do not like at all.

Too soon to say. I hate these systems, they get really hard to predict. Running near parallel to the coast, just a few degree difference in motion can make the difference of states for landfall and it can mean the difference of days over water. Hurricane Michael could have easily been a weak hurricane or tropical storm. It was almost dead, then one hot tower went up, kicked out the dry air and became a cat 5. I wouldn't rule anything out from weak storm to major hurricane from Texas to Florida.

I bet you're a blast at parties.

Weather isn't tropical this morning. 61 degrees, perfect north breeze.
Please send that stuff down here. I sure wish someone could steer Invest 91L out to sea rather than soak the Louisiana coast this coming week.
I've had enough rain issues this year.
