He also threw 2 unforced interceptions. There's always good/bad with Winston. It's the story of most of his career. He needs a Payton who can get the most out of him without the down sides. I'm not seeing the current coaching staff doing that.

This coaching staff can't even get the most out of their chosen starter. They definitely can't pull a Payton and make Good Jameis the majority of the time. At this point, play Taysom. Let him cook. At least it'll be entertaining and we're more likely to win...and he won't throw tantrums.

Winston can have both produced 16 points in one quarter, and have been lucky to not have thrown 4 interceptions in less than a half of football.

the two things are not mutually exclusive. You may not like that he said "He's a bad QB" because I do not necessarily agree, but the dude throws a LOT of interceptions.

Just because he also throws a lot of touchdowns, doesn't make his proclivity to throw interceptions any less true.

I guess I'll take 16 points and "luck" over 3 points and zero luck....

JW takes more chances, he throws INT's, I don't think I ever denied that......I think at this point he gives the Saints a better chance of winning than Carr but we will likely never find out....

Carr and Dalton seem to be almost the same player, they do a great job of protecting the ball and not turning it over to the tune of hardly scoring at all......

Do you understand the definition of insanity? Because, right now, as a Saints fan the decisions being made are leading us down that path.....

I'd start the rookie, but it's pretty clear at this point that Allen isn't gonna give up on Carr. They need to get more production out of Carr though, clearly.

I sorta agree. It's definitely more exciting. Won't win us a lot of games though. Carr hasn't done enough either. So, I don't think there's much difference in outcome. They're both gonna win/lose at about the same rate with this coaching staff.

I don't disagree, but at this point would like to see a change at QB. This offense with Carr at the helm can't score against a quality defense, same with Dalton last year......

I'd even be cool with TH7 taking the job, he may survive without a serious injury for half a season.....might.....maybe.....

But I fear the only way DA sits Carr is if Carr physically can't play.....

Unless Carr starts throwing a bunch of interceptions, Allen is sticking with him as long as he's healthy enough to play. We just have to ride it out and evaluate after the season. Not much we can do at this point.

Which is funny because the Bills just fired their OC.

Sean got him to make better choices. That was not what I saw yesterday. He was just heaving it.

Actually, it was more of the offense/scheme that allowed better choices. People talks about how CSP's playbook and calls are outdated , etc, etc but the fact is he still knows how to build around a player. Finally got to finish the game yesterday and it is no reason the run should have been abandoned when we got to 1 possession. He had some bad throws but it wasn't as bad as folks are trying to make it. I would take good with the bad, as long as it puts us in position to win. But I've also been one to say that I didn't care about interceptions when Drew was top 3 a lot of seasons and I don't care now. Scoring wins more. If we had more scoring early instead of that slow start, the game might have been different.

Look, I know everyone is ticked off about the loss, but we played well on offense the two weeks prior and we did score points. We even won a shootout with the Colts. Had Carr not gotten hurt when we were up 17-0 against the Packers, we are probably 6-4 right now.

16 points and 2 INTs, with one TD being an "omg, never make that throw" lucky completion and another two passes being almost INTs, is not winning football. It's never going to be winning football.

This isn't even worth arguing about anymore. Winston is not going to be the starter.

Yup. Dumb throw and he even said he should've checked it down and taken what was open instead of forcing it.

Identifying the problem is step 1 for him...step 2 - don't do it.

play matchup football like Kamara has been pitching for all year we reverted back to just running plays vs the Vikings and looked out of sorts, nobody got fed the ball until Winston came in and started looking for Olave.

This is why these arguments are so stupid.

Carr was over mid-field when he got hurt and driving. Who knows if he gets a couple of TDs late in the game. He's done that multiple other times this year with slow starts. It's impossible to know how the game plays out one way or the other.

You guys want hero ball that leads to winning 4 games a year but looks cool. Okay, that's not what you are going to get. So why are people still arguing?

My post wasn't for an audience of one...if you felt as if the paragraph where the single "yall" was used didn't apply to you...then keep it moving and be merry. I believe I covered my response to your post in the first paragraph...after that just a blanket statement that wasn't in direct response to you.

Yes, I do not believe that applies to me and I appreciate the clarification.
