I chose to go by what I’ve seen on film. Isn’t that how teams prepare for teams during the week ? I love my Saints and I Want the best on the field to represent the saints. We shall see how this plays out. Either way by week 4-5. Either he proves me wrong or I’ll hear excuses hit the board. The Saving grace is Coach Payton. I think if he even throws 1 interception that the rest of the games will be ball control and AK running 75% of the game just like he babied Taysom last year. So we shall see. All I remember is Winston being gifted great field position in that 49ers game by our defense and couldn’t even get the ball in once after multiple tries. I was at that game and I remember hearing some boos and fans looking like WTF. I’ll be a Saints fan no matter what , but you also have to realize that half of the fan base is coming into the season with some skepticism. You can even say so is the front office given the contract Winston is on. Prove it or move it deal.Nah, I think what you CHOOSE to do is go by what’s on film. There’s also lotsa stats available that show that Jameis is a fairly capable QB. For example: only recently, somebody posted that in his 5 yrs, Jameis had the best 3rd down conversation rate ( 43.6) in the entire NFL. His 20:1 TD:INT rate in the Red Zone was also one of, if not the best in the League. You could also compare n contrast the surrounding talent AND coaching that he has here vs TB.
We haven’t even started TC n a loong way from the season opener. If you want to be an optimist, things like this could offer signs of hope.
If you want to be objective, things like this should at least be considered.
But for whatever reason, if you simply jus don’t like the idea of Winston playing or starting here, that’s fine too. But for you, and those who agree with you, things like this will never ever matter to you.
I wish nuttn but the best for this years team, n hope WE have a great season!
