Anything Over 6 or 7 wins with Winston at Qb would be considered a win (2 Viewers)

Nah, I think what you CHOOSE to do is go by what’s on film. There’s also lotsa stats available that show that Jameis is a fairly capable QB. For example: only recently, somebody posted that in his 5 yrs, Jameis had the best 3rd down conversation rate ( 43.6) in the entire NFL. His 20:1 TD:INT rate in the Red Zone was also one of, if not the best in the League. You could also compare n contrast the surrounding talent AND coaching that he has here vs TB.

We haven’t even started TC n a loong way from the season opener. If you want to be an optimist, things like this could offer signs of hope.

If you want to be objective, things like this should at least be considered.

But for whatever reason, if you simply jus don’t like the idea of Winston playing or starting here, that’s fine too. But for you, and those who agree with you, things like this will never ever matter to you.

I wish nuttn but the best for this years team, n hope WE have a great season!

😂😂😂 I chose to go by what I’ve seen on film. Isn’t that how teams prepare for teams during the week ? I love my Saints and I Want the best on the field to represent the saints. We shall see how this plays out. Either way by week 4-5. Either he proves me wrong or I’ll hear excuses hit the board. The Saving grace is Coach Payton. I think if he even throws 1 interception that the rest of the games will be ball control and AK running 75% of the game just like he babied Taysom last year. So we shall see. All I remember is Winston being gifted great field position in that 49ers game by our defense and couldn’t even get the ball in once after multiple tries. I was at that game and I remember hearing some boos and fans looking like WTF. I’ll be a Saints fan no matter what , but you also have to realize that half of the fan base is coming into the season with some skepticism. You can even say so is the front office given the contract Winston is on. Prove it or move it deal.

Anyone else think that a realistic amount of wins for this team with Winston at QB would be 6 to 7? If we can get 8 wins with him at QB. I would be happy honestly. If this front office wants to really compete for a title. We need to go at GB hard for Rodgers or hope seattle fails again and Russell Wilson requests a trade.
I think we go after Mahommes. Make it happen Mickey

😂😂😂

But we’re not simply talking about preparing for a QB during the week. We’re talking about the Saints signing a new player. There IS a difference ya know!

If you REALLY wanna get the best, fullest picture on a player, you wanna gather as much information about him as you can! That’s a combination of film, stats, the level of coaching, the system he played in, the personnel, etc. I think THIS is what Sean Payton n his staff did before they signed Winston last year.

And despite barely playing last season, the Saints resigned Winston during the offseason. So why did they do it?

Oh, I know! They did it simply to have a decent backup, and/or somebody to compete with Taysom this year!

See, I get it now!

😂😂😂

EDIT: Jus saw u posted this on another thread:

“Winston is trash. I’m very concerned with his football IQ.”

See, NOW everything makes much more sense!!!!

So I REALLY get it now!!!!

The jury is still out on the O line. I think it’s very similar to WRs in the past. Brees made the people around him better including the O line. Let’s see how they do without his genius Pre snap. I can’t think of many O players that left the saints and got better.

We've already seen that with Teddy and Taysom. And, they were still pretty good.

We are not going to replace a generational player like Brees. Based on what I have seen, I would be surprise if Hill can engineered 6 or more wins. If JW struggles to win 6 or more wins, then ll of the nay-saying would be proven prophetic.

Not sure where people get the idea this is a loaded team. On offense we have a great WR and great RB. No TE or number 2WR, an unproven QB (no matter who gets the start) and an average O line.

D we have an aging DE and one that is always hurt, one great LB, and one great CB who may miss time and average safety’s. We are not loaded. We are average and if our QB stinks it up we will be terrible.
Agreed. This is an 8-8, sorry; 9-8/8-9 team regardless who starts at QB. Lack of depth, no cap space, and suspensions at already thin positions will not bode well. My heart says 17-0; my brain says average at best. Hope I'm wrong.

This may be the dumbest take of the off-season.

Too obvious, bro. Mix it up.

Yes, and? Here is an article from a Bucs beat writer than explains it. I didn't find the word "interception" in the article.
And? That's just the point that I was making. There was friction.

Funny enough, let's look at end of the article

"Brady is going to fight to get this right until he runs out of time. But the Bucs, and especially Leftwich, need to do a better job of collaborating with their quarterback."

In other words, let's finally adapt this playbook to Tom's strengths. They still kept some elements but also began to add more play-action, motion, etc.

Let's also look at the teams Tampa played from the bye through the playoffs.
And that means what? Go back and look at some of those interceptions before the bye. You are trying to place it on the level of competition but the fact it, a lot of those interceptions were horrible passes.

I am not talking about "others". I am debunking your claim that Brady threw picks left and right.
But I am. You made an excuse as to why Brady threw 7 interceptions over a 4 game span, in which he threw interceptions left and right (if you want to go back and look at some of those bad passes). I just said the other person didn't get the benefit of excuses. That's all.

Yes, you are.
I am now

Hell, I’m as big an optimistic fan as you’ll find! Dunno if somebody actually said it, or it’s jus your op, but NO, we AINT loaded!!!

😂😂😂

For the most part, I agree with your assessments. But I gotta take issue with you about the O line! “Average”? Really???

Many consider Ram n TA one of, if not the BEST OT duo in the entire NFL! Look it up!!!

Erik McCoy has started every game for us at C since he was drafted in the 2nd rd in 2019. In only 2 seasons he’s already ranked as one of the top 10 centers in the NFL. Former Saint player n now assistant O line Coach Zach Strief thinks that if all goes well, McCoy might well be considered for All Pro honors this year!

I dunno know why folk rag on him so hard, but Andrus Peat is a good, solid player. He was named to the Pro Bowl last season. I’m no big fan of the
AT ALL, but I do see it as recognition of good play.

When the Saints drafted Cesar Ruiz last year, the “vision” was to have him play C n McCoy move to RG. But COVID threw a wrench into things, the move was tanked, n Ruiz ended up havin to play RG. He hung in there, but was outta position, was often outweighed n got outplayed! IMO, if there was a “weak link” on the O line last year, it was Ruiz.

I’d like to see rookie Landon Young play at RG. Hes much bigger n stronger than Ruiz. If we have to lean more on the run game this year, then I think he’s the guy for position.

we’ll see

Strongly disagree with your thoughts.
Anything below 10 wins will be a disappointment for me. We still have a very competitive roster.

Players tend to revert back to their old selves once the bullets start to fly. As soon as Winston throws a interception or 2, Payton will be running the ball 75% of the time every game after that.

I guess you're also saying that once the bullets start flying, THE COACH with revert back to his old self.
