Wife had Pfizer shots, and got the Pfizer booster on Tuesday afternoon.

Got tired that night. Was weak, tired, and cranky all Wednesday. Was pretty much fine Thursday. Never had a fever.

I had the Pfizer shots as well. The first shot I got one year and three days ago, on the same day that Joe Biden got his first shot.

When it came time for the Booster, darned if I didn't get it on the day Biden got his, again. Make's a fellow feel important, even if he's not.

Well, Christmas is cancelled. 17 yo daughter just tested positive. My Mom and FIL are immuno compromised, so we can't take that chance.

Daughter is fully vaxed. Went to a gingerbread house making party Monday night. Last night got word that multiple girls at the party tested positive. Earliest we could schedule a test was Monday. Lucked out and a friend that works in health care was able to get us a rapid test today. Tested positive for Corona on Christmas Eve.

Now, I would not be angry otherwise because shirt just happens randomly and there is nothing you can do about it but carry on. But today daughter tells us that 2 GIRLS AT THE PARTY KNEW THEY WERE SICK AND CAME ANYWAY!!!!! WTF? This is all just coming out now after the fact, too late to do anything about it. I am FURIOUS. I am angry that someone knew they were sick and knowingly exposed my child. But even beyond that, they have now affected not just the people they directly infected, but their entire extended families as well. Thanks to 2 selfish teenagers (and the parents that allowed it) we (and other families just like us) cannot celebrate Christmas with our families.

I am not mad for myself. I am angry for my 17 yo that now feels super guilty for ruining Christmas (she really didn't, but you know how teenagers are). I am super angry for my 10 yo daughter. She is crying because (her words) "Christmas is ruined". I know it's not really ruined, but try explaining that to a 10 year old on Christmas Eve that has been looking forward to this for like 9 months now. And multiply my story for every other person that also got infected at that party.

What is wrong with people that knowingly go to a gathering (or allow their kids to) knowing they are sick? My daughter is fully vaxed but still has covid. Thanks a lot ice hole.

This is the first infection in our household, so looking to the SR community for advice assuming some of you already know.

Daughter was exposed Monday or Tuesday, and tested positive today. What is the contagious window timeline? I am wondering how long I should wait before getting tested myself. I know that getting tested too early after exposure is worthless. Also even if I don't have covid today, I could sill get infected tomorrow or the next day or the next.....

So assuming daughter was infected Monday/Tuesday, how long is she still contagious, and how long after that should I wait before getting tested myself (as well as other family members)? I see no point in getting tested now while she is still contagious, because I could still get infected later even if not infected now. Also I don't want to subject my 10 year old to the nasal jackhammer if she will have to do it again a few days later.

Thanks.

Just another example of people thinking their actions don't affect others. They're irresponsible, heartless idiots. If you're infected, stay yo arse home. Smh.

Or like, at least wear a mask, wash your hands, let people know. Can usually accommodate outside or air filters.

Delta average incubation period is 4 days. Omicron is like 2.

Your daughter have symptoms?

Again, me, I'd just have her in a mask, set up an outside or open air area, maybe a hepa filter (got one last year).

So, assuming omicron, mon infection, Wednesday incubation over.

But symptoms help pin point.

He did say he has immuno-compromised mother and FIL, so I'm not sure it's that simple. Otherwise, yeah.

Regardless, if a family knows someone is positive with Covid, the prudent thing is to stay home the few days necessary then after that do what you want. It's really not that hard. People being dense and sending infected kids or adults to gatherings is just reckless.
