It feels ironic, though, to discuss whether the guy is a tool when he keeps and uses the name Wolf Blitzer on air.

just because he knows what your going to do does not mean you dont have free choice.

If you have a choice to pic A,B,C, or D you have free choice. However no matter which one you choose he knew before you made the choice. Free will has not been taken away. Your trying to place the mortal bonds on god. They do not apply, he is above them. He created them for us not for himself.

He?

And it sounds like he's trying to place the mortal bonds on "your" god. I find it comical that when people speak of their god they speak of "him" as if "he" is everybody's god.

What if i believe that "god" is the collective awareness that we are all one consciousness experiencing reality subjectively. That "god" is an understanding that we are simply vibration and our nature is to seek a higher frequency above our physical form.

Now take what I've said and imagine how I feel when your response is...stupid hippy.

Our gods are completely different. So why speak of your god as "the" god? Religious intolerance can be detected from the simplest form of communication.

I am of the belief that the world would overall be a safer place if religion did not even exist. I know that makes me quite the minority. There are already so many reasons to dislike someone, religion just gives you a god-given right to dislike someone.

It's an ancient philosophy that has carried over into this new age.

I personally see that it was created to give people false hope and to control the masses. Today it is still used as such but to the point where it has become quite delusional.

It's a very intriguing subject if you really think about it. Because I know plenty of people who are firm believers in their religion. And I wouldn't question their intelligence as I know they are very bright folk. So I always wonder if it's just a sense of comfort. Manifesting an after life once we die. To create a world where there is some sort of relativity to your everyday life. Saying grandma is with god now is much easier than saying, grandma is dead and in the abyss of the unknown. Saying you will be with your loved ones soon knowing you're about to die is far more easier to cope with.

So to me it's more of people just hanging on to something and again manifesting this afterlife to better cope with their everyday knowing that one day they will die.

Just like I personally have and continue to manifest my physical form rotting away into this earth while the energy that fuels me to be will simply drift back into the universe to serve it's next purpose.

My beef with religion is that it is taken far too literal and creates animosity among humans to the point to where we are distracted by what it is to be spiritual beings in the first place. Throw in the politics and everyday hustle and bustle of this fast paced society and we're just becoming numb to the receiving end of any higher form of spiritual awakening.

I don't believe in God as most Christians do but I am also not a risk taker so I do not blame him for anything either. Just in case...

That reminds me of the famous quote by Elvis Presley when someone asked him once why he wore both a Star of David and a Cross around his neck-- he responded that he 'didn't want to miss Heaven on a technicality.'

Because the topic is about the Christian god. Sldo its common practice to call him he or him. He is known as the father.

That your god is not the all loving, all powerful father you would have me believe he is since all loving, all powerful fathers don't go around killing their children.

Well you just proved you know very little about Christianity.

Atheists Raise Massive Amounts of Money to Help Rebecca Vitsmun Rebuild Her Life

May 25, 2013 By Hemant Mehta

Rebecca Vitsmun struck a chord with people. Maybe it’s because she was so forthright, yet so harmless, when she told Wolf Blitzer she was an atheist. Maybe it’s because she was a breath of fresh air after seeing victim after victim of the Oklahoma tornado thanking God for anything and everything (except, of course, the tornado). Maybe it’s because we hope that we, too, can be as comfortable in our atheistic shoes as she was in the face of a famous newscaster asking her about her faith on national television.
