That statement should earn you a week of lost posting privileges. Saints should never, ever again, give up all their draft picks. For nobody. Ever.

Go sit in the corner until 5pm CST.

I think that if they could get a deal like this they should definitely trade the whole draft. If we have to throw Ivory in to sweeten the deal so be it.

Great news! He visited with a lot of teams which shows that we weren't the only team interested and that's a good thing. Butler might not have as big a name as Harrison, Elvis, Freeney etc. but he's younger, cheaper, and hungrier.

I see some people are saying this was a depth signing and they may end up being the case, but he could end up being a lot more than that. We as fans really have no idea as to what his potential is but NFL people, on several teams, saw something in this guy they liked and that's good enough for me.

We can now go into the draft with more options but more importantly Rob Ryan doesn't have to go into next season with so many unknowns at OLB. Who the hell knows how Tez and Junior will transition to the 3-4? At least we have one LB who'd familiar with RR and the 3-4.

Which is interesting, considering that the Saints are one FA tackle away from going BPA in the draft. I also think that Butler will give Tez Wilson a run for his money.....who knows?....Wilson might end up inside after all?

Good signing, I'm glad he picked us. He could help the younger players get familiar with the system he's played in and knows. Hopefully we still have enough room left under the cap to maybe sign an OT and Nnamdi. That would make our draft alot more interesting.

You mean wasting bandwidth rather than taking the time to actually look at the board and see what's been posted?

But if you find the place so off putting, you can always do something about that.

Yep, the same thing you are doing. Complain about absolutely NOTHING. You must be a real treat to be around. :)

We're at just over $3MIL under right now according to SPOTRAC.com, but that doesn't include the figures for Will Herring and Victor Butler, although Herring's deal may not count anyway since only the top 51 count in the offseaon. I can't see how Herring's deal would put him in the top 51 contracts on the roster.

As others have said, it's all about flexibility in the draft. Most likely, LT is the next thing to address. Backup QB wouldn't be bad either. Also, there's some merit to not jumping into FA and waiting for prices to come down.
