Comic Book Talk (1 Viewer)

So unless something comes up, I'll be interviewing Joe Quesada next Wednesday. Yes, that Joe Quesada. Any questions? BTW, I already have my One More Day question lined up.

I'm sure that he'll give a safe political answer but I wonder, given how politics have gone since 2010, would he still apologize for having Sam Wilson (commenting on a tea party protest) say that he would not be welcomed by a group of "angry white folks."

So the conversation with Quesada went really well. I'll post the full interview once I edit it. I had to get the OMD question in and he took it in stride. I asked him if he were surprised it still remains as contentious as it is today. The gist...

  • Peter and MJ were never meant to stay married. The problem was none of the EICs before him knew or were willing to take the hit for splitting them up.
  • Keeping the married was stunting the character.
  • Divorce was not a viable option.
  • Killing MJ was never an option.
  • OMD was the only was to correct a terrible mistake in allowing the marriage to last as long as it did.
He almost convinced me...

That's a lie. One More Day is still the worst comic event in comic book history.

He did tell a story of Tom DeFalco (from the Clone Saga) coming and shaking his hand and telling him thank you for taking the albatross of Clone Saga off his back with the public's hatred of it.

Recently, he met Zeb Wells and thank him for doing the same with his current run on Amazing Spider-Man.

Overall, a very good conversation.

One more day made the baby Jesus cry

Great listen. I'm looking forward to hearing his responses on the Marvel Knights question. Please let us know what he says!
His thoughts on One More Day believable for you?

I will say he's right about Zeb Wells...

Well, believable or not, he's probably had plenty of time to think about an answer that he thinks will get him the least amount of flack. :hihi:

I might have to check this out.

I've been trying to get him in for an interview over the past two months. Marvel PR is pretty meh. At least I get responses from DC...

Speaking of which, if you want to read about a Batman who kills...

Man, he flaked out. Shook hands in Toronto. He said he could only come up with two...
  • Kamandi
  • The Question (Vic Sage)
Every time I tried to put some thought into it, I kept coming up with members of the Outsiders.
