Just got an alert that the Summer Olympics are postponed until 2021.

Thanks for sharing. Sounds to me like many of the people that are going to the hospital only have mild symptoms. Haven't many States been asking people not to go to the ER unless they have serious symptoms such as trouble breathing? Is it impossible to ask that of people because of human nature?
i think the reason why so many people are running to the hospital is fear, i dont think the governments and media around the world are doing enough coverage of the recovery numbers as well as the 80% that have only mild cases. we only see and hear the negative and its instilling fear in a lot of people. and by no means am i saying this is not a big deal but it would put a lot of people at ease if they reinforced that most have little symptoms and can fight it at home and that most of the people that need hospitalization are recovering maybe things wouldn't get so clogged up.

They have been doing a decent job of it here on the news with local doctors all over the television telling everyone to only go to the hospital with fever and shortness of breath. There seems to a disconnect though with local news sites though because they start off headlines with clickbait and end the whole article with the good news.

Went to see my PCP this morning(non-covid related), who is also a personal friend, and we talked about the testing done in our area. He said they had done 10,000 tests in Pinellas County and we only have 40 cases at the moment, but he does expect it to increase, he said it's good news to see so few positive results from so many tests being done. His main concern for Florida were people feeling lock down measures in other states and coming here.

That's just the way the media is these days as it's mostly a ratings game, doom and gloom/fear means ratings.

Frozen food for now, seems to be the best choice as I do not think the virus will survive for long in a frozen atmosphere. JMO though.

Many basic science labs that use viruses as tools in their research will refrigerate or freeze them for longterm storage. The cold temp helps maintain their viability.

I did a search to see about cold temps and Sars-Cov-2 and found this link:

Although it is dated 21 Feb 2020, I think it is still decent info.

A couple of sentences stood out:
In general, coronaviruses are very stable in a frozen state according to studies ofother coronaviruses, which have shownsurvivalfor up to twoyears at -20°C.

Specifically, coronaviruses are thermolabile, which means that they are susceptible to normal cooking temperatures (70°C).

I actually think there are more serious cases than the authorities are letting on. I don't think everyone with a mild case is trying to go. It's been stated time and time again by authorities that anyone with mild symptoms should stay home and not go in for testing. And fwiw, I believe the numbers here are far higher than being reported, here in the US and elsewhere. That's just my opinion based on discussions I've had with a few people in the industry.
