Cutting the cable, lets talk options and media setups (3 Viewers)

I did it!!!
I finally cut the cable.
I bought two Mohu Leaf HD antennas. I bought a Roku T.V. for downstairs. For Upstairs, I bought a streaming DVD player. I'm set.
It felt good to tell the cable company I no longer needed their services. Boy did they try to talk me out of it!
I highly recommend cutting out the cable.

Welcome to the family. I live in a semi-rural area with bad antenna reception (I have a Mohu as well) and that's still not enough for me to want cable back. Life is good.

This is pretty much what I hope to accomplish.

So between Netflix, HuluPlus, Amazon and an HD antenna, I shouldn't be missing much in the way of hit series shows or non-ESPN NFL for >$30/month.

Seems that between Netflix, HuluPlus and Amazon there would be a lot of crossover, wouldn't one be the odd man out?

Also my kids seem to be fussing about missing out in Nick and Disney on their bedroom TVs. I need a solution for this.
Just FYI:
Re: streaming The Disney Channel.
From the research that I've done, you can get Disney through Sling T.V. You need Roku or Chromcast to get it though. It costs $20 a month. Also, they have TCM for $5 extra, if you miss the old classic movies.
Also, if you have a PS3 or 4, you can get PS Vue. It's a little pricey @$40 a month, but I hear it's one of the top streaming websites. It also lets you run up to 3 tvs at the same time, whereas with Sling, you can only run one t.v. at a time.
I myself have only Netflix at the moment. If I feel we need more than that, I think I will get Sling TV.

I have one issue that prevents me from signing on for Vue (the $30 plan). I already have my PayPal account linked to the PS Network, but they want to force me to put a credit card on file. I'm sorry, but with the number of times Sony has been hit with hacks, I just can't see myself doing that.

I am planning to put kodi on a fire stick. Can someone tell me what you are able to view with kodi?

Anybody using a Mohu Leaf antenna in the Broussard/Youngsville area? Strongly considering getting one if reception is good.

I really hate cable companies....
Netflix, CW Near Deal That Accelerates Streaming Window as Hulu Ends In-Season Pact (EXCLUSIVE) | Variety

Hope this isn't true. CW ending their deal with Hulu for in season viewing of new episodes! No more Flash, Supernatural,DC Legends. Was probably gonna try Supergirl. Maybe I'll get a labatomy where tv/movie viewing has no interest to me. I'm feeling like Abed from Community "Mmmmmahhhhhhhhmmmmmmm"

Well, when you consider who co-owns the CW, you can probably see why (I'm starting to really hate CBS/Viacom).

It was once they were actually hacked and had a data breach. Every other time some little piss ant group was DDoSing them. Which is not a hack.

just about any movie or tv show that's been out a week. often you can see a tv show a few hours after it aired. Movies are a few days. Better quality movies are a week or two after coming out. I just bought mine a few days ago so im still working through it but im very happy with the purchase.

Before you buy an indoor antenna check out which one you need.
Free HDTV Cable & TV Antenna Reviews
There's the Mohu 25 (mi). 30, and 50.
If the closest tower is greater than 50 miles, you may want to get an outdoor antenna that has a capacity of up to 120miles away.

It looks like the max distance I would need would be 37.6 miles for what I'm looking for. I think the 50 should be good for me.
