Cutting the cable, lets talk options and media setups (1 Viewer)

Grand, I don't have Sling but I do have Vue. The one deal breaker for me with Sling is the lack of a DVR. Do you not use the DVR function much?
Ironically, until I signed up with Vue, I typically complained about not having a DVR once I cut cable. Since having Vue, I barely use it and it's primarily because the networks either have on demand within Vue or they are coming out with their own apps that allow viewing of missed episodes. The only PitA, of course, is CBS.

It's on my box but I haven't messed with it yet. What is it?

Use it. You'll love it. Modbro offers live streaming for all the networks. I've watched HBO, USA, CBS, Fox, FX, History Channel, A&E .....you name it. I have it installed on my Fire Sticks and my FireTV boxes.

this is me also. Because of Kodi, I really don't need DVR service on the VUE

The last time I played with Mobdro, it had to be sideloaded and you had to use a wireless mouse app. Does it work with the remote yet?

My son next door just cut his direct tv. After this weekend hopefully he can cut his Internet access as well.

I just ordered two Ubiquiti NanoStation M2s and will see if I can send him some bandwidth.

Have any of you tried Mobdro yet?

Just installed it on one of my Firetv and it is a little flaky. Picture quality is lacking and getting a lot of buffering.

Was able to see a game with some team named Alabama playing against Clemson. Not sure what that was about.

Fire TV box install is easy as you can just run the apk from the micro SD card. Otherwise, you will have to sideload it. The latest version works with the remote.

Then I will be loading it soon if it works with the remote. That was my only hangup.

I think Direct TV was offering streaming 100 channels for $35 a month. Don't know if it is still being offered. Sling TV has several pacakges starting at $19.99 a month. I find Sling has gotten a lot better. Very seldom do I get freezing or low quality feed.

Not that I've seen and I've had the Vue for months. It's probably the main reason that I've been looking at Sling more these days (not counting the two free months).
