Using a VPN with YoutubeTV wont work. It locks in your area code when you sign up. So no matter where you are or where your VPN says you are, it will still give you the same programming in your "locked in" area. They do allow you to change your locked in area up to 2 times a year. This hinders your ability to switch back and forth easily. However, I've found that if you use the Fox Sports App and enter your youtubeTV credentials you can then change the programming with a VPN. This work around does not work with CBS though.

Disclaimer - I've only tried this with one VPN and I'm not very savvy when it come to the different offerings of VPN's. So its possible that I'm the outlier here.

Gonna ask my bro how he does it. He says it works every week for him. Thought was just VPN and zip....didn’t delve far into it tho as I watch all Saints games via airplay.

I'd be very interested in how he's able to do it. Thanks in advance for any info you get.

That's pretty slick. I'll try it tonight. Thanks!

Yes sir. Man he’s a whiz. Been doing get arounds on anything computer related all of his life. Also (we are gamers) he’s found cheats and I’m talking obscure on any game he’s wanted to. Elaborate stuff. I’m in awe of his electronics prowess lol.

Nice! I've always liked tinkering and finding work arounds. I just used his method and it worked well. But I went a step further and installed the Mobile APK of YouTubeTV onto my shield TV and used the same method with the GPS app. It works great with out having to cast it from the phone.

Nice! Glad it helped and that you even perfected it.

Crap. I’m hosed there because I use android and my tv is just a plain Jane LED with no frills. Crap

Basically I use a Firestick into the TV. Any suggestions?

hows Reddit?

You should be able to cast or at least mirror from an android phone to the firestick. Here's a link.

Reddit moved to NFLBITE and it’s great. That’s what I use and I just airplay it to the TV. With Android it’s just called casting, same thing. Works like a charm for me.
