not sure how I missed this, but Disney just put ESPN on its regular lineup
i'd obviously knew that you could bundle them but I hadn't, but today I turned on Disney and there it was
seems like it's been there since the 4th

I continue paying for DirecTV and think it's worth it, for me at least.
What I find most interesting is that every single streaming service has gone, or is going up in price.
But it seems like all of them are inundating us with commercials these days? I think the only streaming I have that doesn't is D+ and Apple+?

my biggest thing i hated about Direct Tv was the 100 fluff channels that were essentially infomercial channels...

Regular ESPN (without having to give cable/satellite subscriber info), or just ESPN+?

Could be a freebie for a bit. Lot's of providers letting u sample the goods now that the holidays are upon us.

This is what drove me from HBO. No, I pay you for no ads because I pay you. It feels like a bait and switch albeit a long bait.

It annoys me so much I'll walk away and find something else to do. I don't need your service if you gonna treat me like nothing more than a potential money squeeze.

Sorry, already had a wife and kids.

i have noticed that i watch way less TV than i did before streaming took over....

i sometimes miss flipping through channels and finding something random to watch....

Looks like it was just to integrate services into the Disney+ app for bundle subscribers.

Totally forgot about this thread.

after 22 years (yeah 22 years ) with DirecTv, i finally made the move in November. I had simply had enough between the station disputes/ fees/packages/cost. I had called them to offer them one last opportunity to lower my bill. I was paying $256/mo JUST FOR TV ( that was for 5 TVs w/ genie boxes. The lowest they could get me was to $150 for 6 mo, then jumps back up to around $190-200/mo.

I declined and moved over to YouTube TV. $64/mo for all the SAME CHANNELS....no outage during rain storm. No disputes with stations.

I do, at times, get some picture "judder" but its not often at all and honestly, for $64 I DONT CARE. I cannot BELIEVE i was such a creature of habit that i waited this long to pull the DirecTv plug.

Oh and i get 6 TVs plus mobile access ( now only have 4 Tvs running )

Yeah I have been with DirecTV for 15+ years. I tried YouTubeTV, Fubo and others...nothing compared to the quality, for me. I called the "Customer Retention Specialist" number that someone posted here a ways back. They worked with me and locked me in a choice modification pricing plan--with no contract. $115 /month with the sports package and 4K. I was able to trim down to just the new 4K tech box and turned over all my other ones. Their streaming app works better than any other ones that I use.

And unlimited cloud DVR. We’ve got shows recording we’ll never watch or even care about all that much. We record because we can!

I think there’s still a nine month expiration, though.

i've been cord free since 2016. my wife pays for Netflix, we use my in laws Disney+ and Hulu. i get Paramount+ with my walmart subscription, paid $19/year for Peacock. I use the bootleg apps for all the Movies and TV Shows. Have an Antenna for Football games ( but also have bootleg app for those to for backup).
And i don't feel quilty for riding that gray area of legalitly on the bootleg streaming apps. Basically legal to stream it as long as you don't download, becasue then you take ownership, then there is no gray area.

i think it really all depends on the day the "customer retention specialist" is/has had. I made my call late afternoon, and he seemed quite indifferent to my plea of lowering my bill to what i felt reasonable ( in light of me finding YOuTube TV for 1/3rd the cost )

I have 4k as well ( pay like $1.99 more to have ) which is probably where the "judder" is originating, but it doesnt bother me and since the rest of the family is off on apps ( netflix, hulu or disney ) i dont hear many complaints lol

I used to do that every 2 years and would get pretty good savings. But the loss of ABC along with WWL for a very extended period of time, with no billing credit ( unless you called to request ) along with a shoddy counter offer was enough for me to wave goodbye.

Oh and when i asked " where do i send the dish/receiver/genies" they said "keep em...they are yours" - SO WHAT THE HECK was i paying for the last 23 years -$6.99/box along with "insurance" of $2.99 per box???? Yeah that got me as well...
