That's right they do, we have a better O-Line, and they also have some defensive players that are free agents too. Here's just a few names, Sheldon Rankins

I’d like for us to get Rankins back, but if we’re changing to a 34 then maybe not. I’d also like us to get Kwon back. The Jets world loves Kwon. For the same reason we did, and it didn’t take long. I was following Kwon during the season to see if I wasnt biased. Nope, Jets fans loved him immediately. That's right they do, we have a better O-Line, and they also have some defensive players that are free agents too. Here's just a few names, Sheldon Rankins, Solomon Thomas, Kwon Alexander and LaMarcus Joyner to name a few. They have at least 24 free agents on both offense and defense and most were starters last season. They have a long row to hoe before anyone can consider them favorites to win anything in their division.
I hear you, lol. I wouldn't mind bringing Rankins back. He and Onyemata were pretty good together. I also wish we would sign Malcolm Brown and then draft one of Mazi Smith, Gervon Dexter or Keeanu Benton. With a defensive rotation like that we could dominate for quite a few years.
I may have misheard but thought he said they went 11-5 the preceding year.i have to give Matt some credit on his recent AFR which showed that a team doesn’t necessarily have to go 2-15 for two years to reset for a QB in the top 5 of the draft. He mentioned, Kc went 7-9 the year before they drafted in front of us to get Mahones. Then there’s QBs that slip down, such as Hurts. Then there’s ones gotten in the middle of the draft like Russell Wilson. Even with that said, at 29, we cannot package enough to get to the top 10, imo. Not without doing something stupid. But has we held our own pick from last year, then we’d be drafting where our record indicates, and that position is possible to draft into the top 10 of the draft.
Why do you think we're switching to a 3-4 defense? I don't remember Allen saying anything about it, but I may have missed It.I’d like for us to get Rankins back, but if we’re changing to a 34 then maybe not. I’d also like us to get Kwon back. I was just about to say, they never had a losing season with Smith and only missed the playoffs on a 9-7 season. Mahomes inherited the #5 offense in the NFL..lolI may have misheard but thought he said they went 11-5 the preceding year.

They went 12-4 in 2016 and moved up from pick 27 for Mahommes.I was just about to say, they never had a losing season with Smith and only missed the playoffs on a 9-7 season. Mahomes inherited the #5 offense in the NFL..lol

That's true, but remember DA saying a while back, that the defense is not going to change. But I do believe he may want to run multiple fronts and that may include some forms of the 3-4. But right now we just don't have all the personnel to make a switch. There hasn't been any official mention of it, but Woods and Grantham both run a 3-4. Neither are the DC, but he did bring in former DCs who have run succesful 3-4s. Also, with so many defensive lineman FAs this season, a switch this season would be easier than other seasons.
I agree 100%. It is so crazy when you really sit and think about what is going on in that offense.Andy Reid is one of the greatest coaches in the game’s history, both in terms of X’s and O’s and as an overall leader of men. If only luck had went his way one or two more times over the course of his playoff career, he’d be mentioned in the same breath as Bill Belichick.
There’s still time for him, however.
The Saints also tried to sell Carr and his family on the idea of living in New Orleans. While Carr was at the team’s Metairie facility during his two day marathon session, team officials toured the city with Carr’s wife, Heather. That tour apparently went well.
- Play for a team with a strong defense. Multiple people pointed out this week In Indianapolis that Carr has never played for a team with a top-20 defense.
I thought that was right lol. An embarrassment of riches….I was just about to say, they never had a losing season with Smith and only missed the playoffs on a 9-7 season. Mahomes inherited the #5 offense in the NFL..lol
All sounds very positive. Also interesting how much of a difference they believe a healthy MT would have made last year.Sorry if posted already, but Nola.com posted a Carr updated article, with a few interesting nuggets.
When will Derek Carr decide? Is Mike Thomas done with the Saints? What we learned at the combine
INDIANAPOLIS — The entire NFL world descended upon the streets of downtown Indianapolis this week for the annual scouting combine, and the information flowed among coaches, executives, agents and reporters.www.nola.com
I said it much earlier in the process, and it has taken a lot longer to play out than any of us would have ever imagined, but wifey doesn’t make trips like this for places they’re not serious about.
