Derek Carr world tour thread (updated with combine visits) (1 Viewer)

Yeah, thinking about it more it just doesn’t make sense for Carr’s agent to leak that the Jets are his preferred destination, if it was actually true.
I’ll say this: if it really turns out to be a leak to drive up the price; then the agent has done a pretty poor job. He would have failed in fabricating a market and then taken a swipe at the one team who has prioritized your client from the beginning.

If his job is to crap on the franchise that is showing him the most interest after telling the world that “fit” matters more than money? Then mission accomplished, lol.

How is he crapping on us? Some of you get too offended by the business side of things. Players are not fans and fanboys of teams; they’re independent contractors essentially looking for the best payday they can possibly get, by any means necessary.

And again, this isn’t Derek saying this. 98% of the time, “sources” = agent with a calculated agenda.

By telling the world it’s not about money and then saying that, money aside, you like the other place better.

My point is you can’t have it both ways. As I said, maybe it’s just his agent doing a poor job and making a last ditch effort for $. But in the process, he’s saying his client would rather be somewhere than his ultimate home. Could’ve been handled much differently.

The Jets can offer one thing that we can’t, a chance to play the Raiders in 2023.

Also, his former QB coach from his MVP season is there, I imagine they stayed at least as close as Carr and Allen.

I think you’re going to get your wish. He’s had an offer from the Saints if he wants it. No one even knows if he has one from the Jets.

He’s basically told the whole world through this leak that he wants to go somewhere else. I understand it’s a business. But he’s taking a dump on the organization by doing this, intended or not.
I too think we are plan B or C. I also think he will be saving us from ourselves.
Well, we are the ones openly accepting that dump while tooting that thang out..lol
Indeed lol.

There hasn't been any official mention of it, but Woods and Grantham both run a 3-4. Neither are the DC, but he did bring in former DCs who have run succesful 3-4s. Also, with so many defensive lineman FAs this season, a switch this season would be easier than other seasons.
I truly doubt we switch to a 3-4. We don't have the LBs to do that

Could well be coming from Carr’s camp to try and get the Saints to up their offer. Only a year ago we were hearing similar about Deshaun Watson to Atlanta. Also, even if he does have a liking for the Jets they’ll actually have to offer him a contract or, in other words, Rodgers will have to turn them down.

What I will say though, if this is true then good luck to Carr because he clearly isn’t serious about winning if he stays in the AFC.

LOL An ESPN writer posting that a QB is leaning toward a NY area team, bias much? Has an ESPN writer ever posted anything in favor of us? SMH

This is all his AGENT's doing
