Derek Carr world tour thread (updated with combine visits) (2 Viewers)

Outside of cap concerns, I fear signing Carr will limit our next coaches' options if he wants to go in a different direction.

Or it makes us a more attractive option for the next coach because it gives him a QB good enough that he can win with.

You can't compete without one and the draft is far from a sure thing. Just look at the Jets, they've drafted 2 QB's in the top 5 in the last 4 years and they're still looking at bringing in Carr.

Such a great point. Two top 5 picks and they’re in the exact same position we are.

Bra'.. really ??.. that ish shoulda' been done weeks ago.. you should be focused on yard work by now.. smh.. it's almost March for chrissakes.. LoL!

NW.
Did mine the day they started accepting them and yet I still don't have my meager refund.

I started doing the math on top 10 QB picks in the last 10 years. Mardi Gras and a gender reveal interrupted it but there's at least 2 years where there wasn't a QB that got picked in the top 10 and 3 where there wasn't a QB worth it.

Then you got the quality of the QB's where you're looking at mid-tier in the top 10.

Only 3-4 guys in the top 10 over the last 10 years are franchise changing elite guys. Yet some Saints fans think that's exactly what we'll end up with when they talk about skipping over Carr and "fixing the cap."

Outside of Wilson, who have they picked as a QB? They went defense and WR after Wilson in 2021?
I'm not doubting that picking a QB is a gamble.

Darnold was drafted 3rd in 2018 (and many people thought that this was a reach) but if the Jets don't get Darnold, we don't get Teddy and the legend is never started..lol

It's of perspective. Keep playing this cap game, or get it under control. I'm not saying Carr is not a respectable qb but going all in on him will do a number on our cap and flexibility.

I forgot about him.
