if you get work done on your house, do you never get a second quote to check the value of the work being done? Then why is he traveling up north to see what the Jets have to offer?

It not only makes them a playoff team it makes them a potential division threat and a deep playoff team. You add the #4 defense, offensive rookie of the year at WR and what may have been the offensive rookie of the year at RB had he not been injured with an average QB (which Carr is) and you have the makings of a dangerous team.Jets were 5-2 before Breece Hall went down. They won two games the entire rest of season after losing him. He was a difference maker for them.
A healthy Breece Hall and adding Carr would make them a playoff team.
Blinders go both ways. Lots of Saints fans fail to see the warts of other organizations because they’re too focused on the perceived warts the Saints have, imo.It not only makes them a playoff team it makes them a potential division threat and a deep playoff team. I know most of us have black and gold blinders on but New York is a much better situation than we have. If the money is close, he'd be a fool not to go to the Jets.
To test his market? It’s fun to compare different offers when you are seeking employment. Then why is he traveling up north to see what the Jets have to offer?

There is barely a 1-year difference in average age between the Saints and Jets rosters. And that was with them starting Zach Wilson at QB.Truth.
Take the black and gold glasses off.
We are MEDIOCRE with an aging team
Jets are MEDIOCRE with a young team
The only difference is.. if carr goes nfc south.. and Rodgers goes AFC... he could have a easier route to the superbowl vs 1st round exit.
Hurts
Dak
Carr
Stafford
Kyle
(Without any current other AFC QBs moving).
Would you not test the waterThen why is he traveling up north to see what the Jets have to offer?
Yep.Onyemata is projected to get anywhere from $7-10m a year depending on the source, but the general consensus is that the market for interior DL will explode this year because DT is a need everywhere.
With Carr it would have been difficult if not impossible to re-sign him, much less to replace those 3000 total lost snaps. Onyemata had close to 700, we need 2300 more even if we do keep him. I think edge might be ok with Cam/Granderson/Turner, but our only DT under contract has 27 career NFL snaps.
Uhh, have you not looked at the AFC QBs vs the NFC? I wouldn't say top 15, but maybe more 5He can go be the top 15 QB in the AFC or top 3 in the NFC
No Lamar???Uhh, have you not looked at the AFC QBs vs the NFC? I wouldn't say top 15, but maybe more 5
Top 10.
NFC:
Rodgers (for now)
Hurts
Stafford (if he doesn't retire)
Prescott
AFC:
Mahomes
Allen
Burrow
Herbert
Wilson (if he comes back to form under Payton.)
Just to name a few.
That's my point. If he is already sold on the Saints, then going to interview with the Jets can only be with the hope of getting more money... whether the extra cash is from Jets, Saints, or any other team he goes to interview with. I was replying to the poster who said he is not all about the money. He certainly has the right to set his true current value by checking out what he can get elsewhere... even if he plans on signing with the Saints. To test his market? He would be foolish to not see who would overpay for his services..That's my point. Yes, I would. But the poster I responded to said that he was not all about the money. But testing the waters means that the money is certainly important to him.Would you not test the water
And I don’t think he signs there w/o 3X $45mm guaranteed
