So he does want the most money he can get... which is the point I was making by my comment. He would be foolish to not see who would overpay for his services..

Not just fun, but reasonable. To test his market? It’s fun to compare different offers when you are seeking employment.
I never disagreed with you. Considering the contract that he just lost, it is no doubt in my mind that he will try to get as close to that as he possibly could. So he does want the most money he can get... which is the point I was making by my comment.
Yep, we agree. Carr is not coming by just because to 'help out' his buddy Dennis. He wants a lucrative offer from whichever team is willing to shovel out the nicest payday.I never disagreed with you. I don't think DA has a choice, gambling on a rook is a risky proposition for someone with his career record. While Carr sounds like a solid player, his output is so similar to Dalton I can't justify paying all that money for an extra win or two. We need to groom a young buck and stop hiring sloppy seconds
Carr isn't exactly old for a qb. He's in his prime years. He's more mobile, has had more production and is overall a better QB than AD. I really think he'd be a top 10 qb with the Saints. Of course I could be wrong, but I feel good about what I've seen from him over the years. While Carr sounds like a solid player, his output is so similar to Dalton I can't justify paying all that money for an extra win or two. Yeah, and they struggle their first year or 2 more often than not. Allen won't be given that much time.I don't think DA has a choice, gambling on a rook is a risky proposition for someone with his career record.
To set the marketThen why is he traveling up north to see what the Jets have to offer?
It not only makes them a playoff team it makes them a potential division threat and a deep playoff team. You add the #4 defense, offensive rookie of the year at WR and what may have been the offensive rookie of the year at RB had he not been injured with an average QB (which Carr is) and you have the makings of a dangerous team.
I know most of us have black and gold blinders on but New York is a much better situation than we have. If the money is close, he'd be a fool not to go to the Jets.
This is hilarious.....yes, just add Breece Hall, a rookie RB and he makes all the difference, nothing else.....just Breece Hall and magically the Jets are in the playoffs.....right....
That 5-2 record and wins came against teams that were average - poor a combined record of 38-47.....
After Hall went down they actually beat the Bills but the NFL is wacky like that I guess....
Their subsequent 2-8 record (losses) came against teams with a collective record of 70-48.....
But....yeah....Breece Hall.....You’re so right! Losing a running back averaging 5.8 yards per carry when the team had weak QB play didn’t affect their season. Surprised they didn’t win out when he went down, right?Jets were 5-2 before Breece Hall went down. They won two games the entire rest of season after losing him. He was a difference maker for them.
A healthy Breece Hall and adding Carr would make them a playoff team.
He's the safest bet out there. Aaron or LJ will require picks, and Rogers will not dedicate himself to the team at this age. This is why he may get a record contract.Carr isn't exactly old for a qb. We shouldn't be all that interested in saving his job. What does that really accomplish, get Dennis Allen a couple years worth of HC paychecks while we suffer through mediocre football 17 games a year. If he was a legendary/successful coach at one point and on a on a downturn, sure scratch-claw-bite your way to some level of success to keep him in house, but he's a bad head coach doing what bad head coaches do and we shouldn't allow him to prolong his bad head coaching career for the sake of prolonging his bad head coaching career.Yeah, and they struggle their first year or 2 more often than not. Exactly…. Well said my friend! I hate to say it… but we were never 5-2 last season. It not only makes them a playoff team it makes them a potential division threat and a deep playoff team. Do you realize that ONE extra win would have landed us in the playoffs!?!?While Carr sounds like a solid player, his output is so similar to Dalton I can't justify paying all that money for an extra win or two. We need to groom a young buck and stop hiring sloppy seconds
