Derek Carr world tour thread (updated with combine visits) (2 Viewers)

Tuning in this morning, and they said no offer was made for Carr from Jets.

The NFL franchise tag window opens up tomorrow, so that should be interesting for other qbs and to see what could happen elsewhere.

I'm hoping this week or next to see what happens with the Carr situation.

I honestly think we are looking good no matter which way we could go, possibly Aaron Rodgers, a darkhorse in Lamar possibly, Carr maybe, and many other options a trade up to go all in, in the draft or even Hooker/Richardson.

Lots of options.

This offseason is huge for D.A and I think it will be a huge one.
Good to see the Jets haven’t made an offer. I’d hope that Carr takes the hint at this point. They’re clearly all in on Rodgers and he’s their back up choice. Hopefully we can get a deal done this week.

So now we are debating which subpar team

Sounds like this maybe was just some due diligence.

I think the Jets go all-in for Rodgers.

So, in that case, should we disregard Dennis Allen’s record as a HC with the Raiders when making a judgement on him?

Of course we shouldn’t because more often than not you are what you are, regardless of the team you’re on. There’s a reason Winston is about to be released by the Saints and there hasn’t been a single whisper of any team being interested.
Except you treated him like :poop: even when he was winning. DA has yet to win. He has this team performing at their floor W/L potential.

Sometimes need to remind ourselves that the 'we' you refer to aren't the decision makers in all of this. Any talk of 'we shouldn't allow' is vastly misplaced.
Someone needs to remind ourselves...that that's technically what we all are kind of doing doing to an extent.

We use we...all the damn time when discussing the Saints. Who are you to pull my WE membership?

Here...I drew you a ladder so you can come down and those are stirrups and not balls:

I like Carr and I think he’s capable of being pretty good, but that New York media would chew him up and spit him out.

I think ultimately it’ll come down to us and Carolina unless a surprise team enters the convo

It’s not even the good NY team. I could understand the Giants because they have standards, but to handle everything the NY media has for…the Jets?!?!

We shouldn't be all that interested in saving his job. What does that really accomplish, get Dennis Allen a couple years worth of HC paychecks while we suffer through mediocre football 17 games a year. If he was a legendary/successful coach at one point and on a on a downturn, sure scratch-claw-bite your way to some level of success to keep him in house, but he's a bad head coach doing what bad head coaches do and we shouldn't allow him to prolong his bad head coaching career for the sake of prolonging his bad head coaching career.

And way too many folks are fine with this....IMO.....

So basically what someone within the Jets has told Darlington. They aren’t going to say anything else I suppose, but if they really think Carr is getting them out of the AFC they’re very, very deluded.

Also, if they think he’s that great then you’d expect there to already be an offer on the table. Of course, there isn’t because they want Rodgers.

And we’re sure that Breece Hall is going to be the same player less than a year removed from a torn ACL?

Again…I think we tend to ignore other teams’ negatives just as much as we over-emphasize our own positives and negatives. It kinda evens out.
Very true! Good point… takes around a year to full Heal from that surgery.

The Saints are going to do what they think gives them the best chance of winning now, just like every team does until mathematically eliminated. So whether you say 'we' or 'they', we/they are going to 'allow' it.

But you get extra marks for the comedy ladder-horse. I take mine a little higher, though. With extra balls.

Almost as if they think this will panic the Packers into dropping the asking price for a man who is currently busy on a mystical quest to find himself and some semblance of a purpose.

Could be also coming from Carr's agent tbh trying to get more money from the Saints
