if anyone thought he was actually using Twitter for free speech and not a tool for power, is a fool.Elon Musk now daily calls for people to go to prison for what is nothing more than speech.
The people who championed him as some free speech warrior are absolute dopes. It was obvious that was just a tool for his ends - he never understood or cared about free speech.
has anyone publicly abandoned him for his free speech hypocrisy? The people who championed him as some free speech warrior are absolute dopes. It was obvious that was just a tool for his ends - he never understood or cared about free speech.
most of the ones who championed his 'free speech stuff will never admit it. they don't wanna the 'I told you so' so they will stick by it no matter how bad it gets..lolhas anyone publicly abandoned him for his free speech hypocrisy?
seemingly not
indicating that no one was really turned on by his pretending to be a free speech purist
it's just like Fox fans championing their 'fair and balanced' propaganda when they actually want neither
They're lemmings, that's all there is to it. It's almost god-like worship. I'll never understand people who put their trust in people like Musk.most of the ones who championed his 'free speech stuff will never admit it. they don't wanna the 'I told you so' so they will stick by it no matter how bad it gets..lol
And look, I get that it’s hardmost of the ones who championed his 'free speech stuff will never admit it. they don't wanna the 'I told you so' so they will stick by it no matter how bad it gets..lol
dude is not a nerd - he is a dweeb of the highest orderFind it funny that Ashley St. Clair has a long history of bashing nerds and she ends up procreating with one of the biggest nerds on earth only because he's a nerd with massive amounts of money.
Does it though? Applying Karl Popper's paradox of tolerance to free speech suggests that it can't literally be all, because that would necessitate allowing the free speech of those who would suppress free speech potentially enabling their dominance and the collapse of free speech. And look, I get that it’s hard
When I was living in NYC I read the Village Voice regularly
Nat hentoff was a regular writer and about as close to a free speech purist as ever was
Usually it was fine bc I agreed with his take , but every now and then it was like ‘Wha?!? We gotta give them free speech too!!??’
And that’s the challenge with all this democracy stuff
All means all

thisSuppressing free speech isn't free speech. You're free to talk about it all day long, but actually trying to suppress it goes beyond free speech. There's no real paradox in his paradox. Talking about suppressing free speech and actually taking action towards suppressing it aren't the same thing.
That implies that there's no connection between those, that the one cannot and will not lead to the other, which suggests that speech is meaningless. Whereas the premise is that speech can and, unchecked, ultimately will lead to action. So I disagree, I think there's a valid paradox there.Talking about suppressing free speech and actually taking action towards suppressing it aren't the same thing.
