ESPN’s Mel Kiper mocks Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart to Saints at #9 (19 Viewers)

Oh man it would be hilarious if somehow Dart was to be drafted before Sanders. The “experts” would lose their minds

I’m highly convinced that if there any other QB, not named Sheduer Sanders, who threw for 4100K yards, 74% completion, and 37 TDs vs 10 INTs, then everyone would want to sell the farm for him. Look, I’ll admit that his attitude/bravado is off putting to a lot of people, but to say he’s not worth a top 20 pick is ridiculous. Give me a guy with his level of confidence, along with his accuracy, and pocket presence
You forgot the shadow of Daddy Prime lurking in the background, and the Circus of Drama that accompanies him. That ain't Shedeur's fault, but it IS reality. If you're okay with that, the dude has elevated every program he has played for. None of them were elevated to "elite", IMO, but they were better for having him there. I want a QB that elevates the play of those around him; not a QB who needs to be surrounded by talent. It's a fine line of distinction, but I don't see Shedeur elevating those around him, I see the latter. Just look at his last 2 years at Colorado for the illustration of what I'm trying to say.

He's a good QB....maybe even a very good QB....but I don't see "elite" traits. And if he provides an incremental bump at QB play, I'm not sure it'll be worth the Sanders-family drama that always seems to be lurking around the corner. And if I'm wrong and Shedeur IS that elite franchise QB we need, and if Daddy Deion taught him ANYTHING about the NFL and contracts, I can absolutely see Shedeur "testing the market" the 1st opportunity he gets and wanting a bigger market for "other endorsements". I don't think he'll stick around for a 2nd contract with the Saints. JMO...

Ward isn't falling to #9. Truth be told, I don't think Shedeur is either....that's someone trying to tank his stock so he slides a little, enough that they have an opportunity to take him. I like Dart. But not at #9. Maybe #40 if he lasts that long? Or maybe trade back from #9 for additional picks. I would love to see Dart in NO, sitting for a year and marinating in CKMs system & tutelage. Of course, that is predicated on CKM liking him enough to take him. If CKM doesn't want him...I'm out too. But until I know otherwise, I like the potential.

Another thing with Mel's mock draft #20 Tet McMillan to Broncos.
Daniel Jeremiah's new mock #22 Tet McMillan to Chargers.

Seems like further look at his tape shows his inability to separate is knocking him down a little bit. I get his body type fits a need but he is looking more & more like a reach at #9. Of course, Saints reaching a bit for need is a tradition like no other.

I heard about Mel Jr.'s report on the way to work this morning. Thankfully, I didn't have my coffee yet or it would have ended up spit out on the inside of my windshield. I've been hearing for many many months now how bad this draft is for QBs, and now people are talking about three guys going in the top 3 to 9. I know it could happen, crazy stuff during the draft happens all the time. But I still get surprised every year...

Actually, I hope three QBs do go early... in the top EIGHT:)

Can you imagine who might fall to us if this happens? Someone who actually graded out as a top 10 pick...

Mel Kiper's annual "mock drafts" where in each iteration of his draft, he drafts someone 30 picks before they are projected in order to generate engagement with his garbage.

It’s amazing how all over the mock draft board this prospect is. I’ve seen him as high as 4, while other draft experts that I trust like the former scout Daniel Jeremiah have him going in the 20s.

I'll give you accuracy, but I think his pocket presence has a long way to go. He tends to hold onto the ball too long and tries to go backward to bail out of the pocket which results in him taking a lot of sacks.

I do think he gets too much criticism and a lot of it is due to who his father is and to call him "trash" or anything similar is insane, but I do think there are reasonable reasons to think he should be a late first or second round pick. I think his lack of pocket awareness that leads to too many sacks, lack of a great arm, and failing to ever really take over a game at Colorado push him down a bit.

As far as his bravado, I think if things are going great his team will feed off of it, but if things go wrong it could rub a lot of guys the wrong way.
