Any chance of winning depends on our defense; this offence has nothing much except for AK41 and Washington isn't the NYG's where we lucked out last week.

There is. It's called a bad coach. There's a very good reason Haslett didn't get another HC coach job.
the Delhomme vs Brooks arguments always left me scratching my head. Brooks was mostly ever good when throwing to Horn and Delhomme was mostly only good when throwing to Steve Smith.
The truth is they were both not good and I found it highly amusing fans were arguing between two quality backup QBs.
Tampa game Rattler put 27 points in the second quarter. How about the numerous drops in all the games and every time they had a positive drive there was a penalty. That stalled out the drive. 3 games in 14 days. How can you correct all the problems when you play 3 games with limited weapons and bad line play. The starting center was on the team for a week. Lucas Patrick came in injured for both the Broncos and Chargers game. I think he was in and out for one of them. Rattler got hurt in the Broncos game and still played the Chargers game. Don’t forget Means got hurt in the Chargers game. Cedrick Wilson missed the Chargers game. Plus what you said he had his weapons which he didn’t. Jake came in at the end of the game against Denver and led a garbage TD once the game was in hand. Jake didn’t do anything against the Chargers when he came in. Trevor Siemian did the same late in games but his starts were horrible. People just want to keep moving the goalpost like you did about weapons.
I disagree, while neither was ever a top tier QB, they were both quality starters......I mean Jake led Carolina to a SB......
I really struggle with the idea that they were quality starters. Even Smith got so incredibly frustrated with Delhomme as a QB, and Brooks had teammates trying to fight him. If I remember right, someone actually punched him on the airplane on the way back (was it Charles Bentley or Charles Grant or someone else?)
Idk. Neither meets my standard of quality starters, and more so of “really good backup”.
in retrospect, I think your take is correct. but to put it in perspective, we were coming out of a long run with Steve Walsh, Mike Buck, Billy Joe Tolliver, Billy Joe Hobert, Danny Weurfel, and Jeff Blake playing QB. Jeff Blake was the crown jewel of that group, despite being average. So yeah, Brooks & Delhomme looked REAL good in comparison. In the words of Eddie Murphy, after all that, Brooks & Delhomme were the best saltines we ever had. LOL!I mean, while I think Steve Smith was a great, great WR, that dude hated everyone.....and TBH that is the Haslett culture you are describing re: Brooks.....he never had a chance, his later teams were an absolute mess......with a good HC and offensive staff I thought Brooks could be very good.....
I think you also need to keep in mind there are very few good-great QB's, I think they were both average starters that had some good moments....
The next time the Saints are contenders it’ll be with a QB not currently on the roster. I’m pretty confident about that one
A new coach isn’t going to want to hitch their wagon to the current options. They may be forced to out of necessity next year, but I’d be surprised and disappointed if the Saints don’t get a good QB prospect in the draft the next 2-3 seasonsI'm not bold enough to say that. Haener has shown that he's capable of coming out and making some great throws with anticipation. That's something the 10 or so least performing starting QB's are doing nor have been doing.
If he can do even some of the game game, and put in as good as a performance as the bottom 10 QB's or even better, then what can he be after two years of experience and growth?
With that being said, I haven't the confidence that he can do that. But I recognize the possibility, and I do believe while its less possible, its still possible. Which makes me open to it.
I'm excited for this weeks game. I want to see what he's capable of.

In the Denver game SR gets benched and Haener comes in and in 5 plays gives us a TD. I n the Chargers game all he was missing on the OL was McCoy. He had Olave AND Taysom and was so bad he got benched
In Sun's game yes JH will have the starting OL, one that looked awful last week but he'll have no Olave, Shaheed or Taysom, also no Bub Means
And SR was only missing McCoy in the Charger game, he also had Olave in that game. He had Miller in the Buc game as well and got benched both games.
That's why i think it was wrong to start SR in place of JH to begin with. All that SR has over JH is arm strength, that's IT. JH is more accurate has better anticipation and decision-making
