.....but stillCarr is starting next year
Rattler cant compete with the Zoolander pics, but he does have a better armI think I’ve seen and can remember most Saints QBs in their history. At least going back to the mid-seventies.
I can’t recall a QB who looked as bad as Haener. It wasn’t just the lack of pocket awareness it was the sense of the game being way faster than he could possibly process. That and a palpable nervousness that could be felt just watching him.
Ian Book? Danny Weurfel? John Fourcade when he came back to earth? It’s impossible to overstate to how poorly he played and the fact that Rizzi pulled him at the half - knowing full well the confidence shattering implications of that - speaks to someone who had no business being on a football field.
Great guy. Took some hilarious promotional photos. But not an NFL QB.
No way Haener should of been given the start if not for him being listed as he #2 QB.And? Not seeing a point here.
He apparently practiced well enough to earn the #2 spot. So that's the call the coaches made. Rattler was far and away the better QB on the field today, so the choice is now pretty easy.No way Haener should of been given the start if not for him being listed as he #2 QB.
Ron Howard voiceover:now we get to see a full game of him
Well up till today Rattler wasn't playing well and was benched before. Decision was made based on what they saw in practice. Give Rizzi for doing what was needed after halftime. What in the world did the coaches see at practice to make them start Jake Haener today??? That was a very poor judgement call by Rizzi and our OC, because he was awful today and was awful all pre season. He is OUT OF PLACE for this level of football.
Were they listening to SaintsReport or something to make this poor decision, to “see what we have in him”. Well that poor decision may have cost Rizzi the opportunity to keep the job, because we lost.
Rattler is a rookie, but he shows A LOT of promise with an NFL level arm (especially with a little more line protection). Give Rattler 2 years to develop and we will have a legit starting QB that can compete in this league.
It now may be some other coach developing Rattler.
We literally watched Haener come in the same games Spencer played in and called out those reads in front of our eyes so... again, we already know that Haener is more prepared to start than Spencer is. There is no skew.
That's why i think it was wrong to start SR in place of JH to begin with. All that SR has over JH is arm strength, that's IT. JH is more accurate has better anticipation and decision-making
