Harry Potter TV Series (3 Viewers)

Murphy would be great as Voldemort. Honestly, he could play Snape well too.

But, I doubt he would commit to something that takes this much time for this long. Although I guess the Voldemort role isn't really very big until very near the end of the story depending on how they adapt the books.
Murphy could play Moaning Myrtle and it'd be captivating.

...........As per the official Harry Potter website, Gardiner and Mylod shared that "We have 8 hours to tell the first book, so we can dig into the real depths and crevices and how the language of magic can evolve." With many HBO series having hour-long episodes, this means that Harry Potter season 1 will likely consist of eight episodes. Previous comments and the revealed filming window have indicated that the series is expected to debut in late 2026 or in 2027..........

An eight-hour runtime provides more justification for the Harry Potter books to be adapted as a television series. It is enough of an increase to ensure that the series will have enough time to be the faithful adaptation it has been promised to be. Since the books gradually become much longer, with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix being the longest in the series, it will be intriguing to see if the runtime of later seasons is increased, or if all Harry Potter seasons will adhere to an eight-hour runtime..............

The Harry Potter series is full of side stories that never got their day in the sun, but HBO's remake is a chance to finally change that. The upcoming TV show will dedicate entire seasons to each of J.K. Rowling's books, which means there is a great deal more wiggle room for the tale's entirety to make it on the screen.

This also means that some of the stories of Harry Potter that are only mentioned in passing or told through a third-person perspective can play out in more detail. For some, this will just mean a few flashback scenes that dive into the action. Still, other stories deserve full episodes.

HBO's Harry Potter remake is expected to kick off its first season in 2027, which would explore the story of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. From there, season 2 would dive into Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and so on.

HBO typically averages about eight to 10 episodes per season within its original series, so there is plenty of room to expand on Harry's established story.

This makes full episodes outlining stories like the Marauders becoming Animagi or Tom Riddle's first experience making a Horcrux not only possible but imperative to the overarching story.............

HBO may finally have zeroed in on its Albus Dumbledore.

According to reports in multiple US outlets, two-time Emmy winner John Lithgow is reportedly in final talks to play the Hogwarts headmaster in HBO‘s forthcoming Harry Potter series based on JK Rowling’s best-selling books about the Boy Who Lived.

Sources reportedly told Deadline about Lithgow’s negotiations, but HBO declined to comment.

“We appreciate that such a high-profile series will draw a lot of rumour and speculation,” the network said in a statement.

“As we make our way through pre-production, we will only confirm details as we finalise deals.”.............

I kinda like it. He can pull off that warm father figure character

I tell ya when I see Lithgow now I don’t think Dumbledore lol
