If Jeanty, T-McMillan and Will Johnson are on the board at #9, who are you taking? (13 Viewers)

Who would you pick if Will Johnson, Ashton Jeanty and Tet McMillan are all available at #9?

Again, what makes you think Moore wants to build an offense focused on the run game? He's only run that kind of offense in Philly. That's not what he did in Dallas or with the Chargers.

Well, we gotta see. But he has found success with a power run game/mobile QB.

The other jobs were resume builders.

I went back and forth between Jeanty and Tet, but finally landed on Jeanty as he appears to be a generational talent at a position where we are thin and aging. Unfortunately my selection is aspirational as IMO Jeany will be long gone by the 9th pick!

Well, he certainly doesn't have a mobile QB here so that part is out of the window. Maybe he does want to base the offense on the running game, but that would be a major change in how he has run his offenses in the past and the offense he ran as a QB in college. He ever tried to be a pass first team early in the season in Philly, but realized early on that they were built to be a power running team. And he won the Super Bowl by throwing the ball because KC was dead set on stopping Barkley.

The point that it has been his most successful season. I understand this is an assumption, as well as it is to think he can build based on the pass game.

Jeanty. The distance it takes to get him the ball is shortest...he won't be there though. Raiders will snag him.
Not want to move this thread out of the original promise, but if Jeanty is gone. A good debate would be to take either McMillan or Omarion Hampton, who I think can be the Edgerrin James to Ricky Williams surprise. For what I read (I don't pretend to be a draft expert), Hampton may be closer to Jeanty than we might expect.

Taking any RB other than Jeanty at #9 would be crazy. I like Hampton a lot, but if you want him, you move back into the mid-to-late first to take him. Drafting a RB high in the first isn't a great idea, but if you are going to do it, he better be elite. I don't think Hampton is that.

If the draft were today, I'd pick Tet.

Omarion Hampton is nowhere near Edgerrin or Ricky. He’s not even close to Zach Charbonnet level. And that’s his closest comp.

Sounds like he balanced based battle game plan.

He maybe just build an offense based on what we have and what the other team isn't strong against.

I think this season fans will be surprised at CKM.

I definitely put money for the Saints to win the South

I feel like Hampton is closer to Henderson, Johnson, Skattebo, Judkins than he is to Jeanty. In other words, if we miss out on Jeanty, I think we are better off holding off until later in the draft to grab a RB.

I think he will change his offense based on the skills of the players he has. But, I think long term he wants to look more like the Sean Payton offense than the Shanahan/Kubiak stuff.

With ya on Johnson. And let's not forget Rico Payton. Dude showed up pretty good when given the chance, IMO, and I'm looking forward to seeing if he makes a big year 2 leap. I think he could be a solid starter at the other CB slot. COULD BE....definitely a sleeper pick. Wouldn't stop me from taking another CB, but not at #9. While I hope Payton fulfills his potential, hope isn't a viable nor sustainable strategy.
This is a tough one, but if Johnson checks out medically he would be my choice. I believe rb and wr we can get later in the draft, and I would really like to keep Alonte in the slot. Plus the last cb we drafted from the big 10, with an injury history, around this pick worked pretty good for us
