Inflation here? gas/grocery prices just continue to climb (3 Viewers)

not gonna happen here mon frere. We gottaa invest in nuclear. my home is coal fired. That needs to go away
I'm not necessarily disagreeing with your sentiment, I just think it's more accurate to say very unlikely rather than can't happen. I definitely think we should be finding a way in regards to building out nuclear power for all of our utility needs.

I'll concede and to you as well DTC. The mind of a lunatic can sabotage any safeguard. It's still our best source of clean
energy. Batteries that power electric cars aren't .

I think for electric, batteries are still the best option short term. Long term, there are going to be issues with disposal once they've reached the end of useful life. If everyone were driving EVs, that would become a real problem. Idk if nuclear would present the same issues at some point, but I'm sure those same issues will be there.

I suspect nuclear in vehicles will be a tough challenge, not the least of which would be cost.

yes, the issue with electric batteries is how we can dispose of them. it's been a problem since my Hs days. Put them on a craft and have them crash into the sun is the easiest answer. How we can pull this off goes way over my noggin.

There's a lot of research going into recycling them. It'll probably be feasible in 10 years.

You have a problem with storing spent nuclear fuel rods as well.

Sure, but even recycled batteries have a shelf life, presumably not as long as new ones. So disposal issues will be a real problem when the time comes.

Eventually, but there's some cool stuff going on with getting really good usable material from recycled batteries. The biggest issue is consumption... all energy consumption contributes to entropy in some way - either mining for battery materials, burning coal, etc. The nice thing about solar is the bulk of the entropy is occurring billions of miles away, but we still need to store that energy here, which again leads to entropy.

The only way to slow that down, really is to consume less.

I'm not all too worried about what happens here, but definitely worried about what happens in Ukraine with Putin and their reactors. Moreover, not all nuclear power is here nor is it new.

But, for what it's worth, thank you for pointing that out. I did not realize how much safer we are today and sure would like to see more.

Pennsylvania man arrested after putting 'I did that!' Biden stickers on gas pumps

Police said Glazewski screamed at one of the gas station's employees when she told him he couldn't put stickers on the pumps.
An employee at the gas station told police Glazewski had covered the stickers with a clear coat of some kind that made them harder to remove.
Its funny until you go to jail for defacing private property...
I used to remove them al the time when i saw them, just so the person doing it wasted his time. I probably pulled off 20 or 30 of them at least..
Am I wrong for laughing too hard at this video?

It annoys me because it’s just silly, but I’ve never peeled any off.

I almost feel bad. Ignorant people being used as pawns in a propaganda war.

I still laughed quite hard.

was he running on his tip toes? that run seemed quite awkward... Was he running towards the employee? running towrds the store doesn't seem to be the best escape route..
If i'm choosing political battles, thats not one i'm willing to go to jail for..
