Ingram benched [OLD THREAD BUMPED] (2 Viewers)

Trade him. Highest bidder. Seriously. Trading deadline Tuesday. What other team out there needs an above average RB until their starter recovers from injury? Green Bay, New England? Time to cut bait. He's slow, can't turn the edge, fumbles. We play better without him. With Hightower and the other group of RB's we have that's enough to carry us till the next draft.
lol, for what?

I have been an Ingram fan, but he has run uninspired this season. Ingram has speed (see 70 yard run last year) but no real burst, if that makes sense. The Saints played better with Hightower in the starting lineup last year and today, he needs to remain the starter.

Ingram made horrible mistakes two weeks in a row. It happens, coaches make tough moves, and players learn tough lessons. It's part of the game, It's part of life.

BUT WOW!!! I wonder what the "fans" will say when and/or if Drew ever has a few horrible games in a row. Or Cooks, Or Michael Thomas, or Cam, or anyone else who happens to hit a rough patch. I'm happy for Hightower, but cant and wont hate on Ingram. Bad games and rough stretches happen. I cant wait to see how Mark responds.

On that note, only cowards and comedians kick people when their down. I would pay to see some of these dudes share their negative comments to Mark in person. In real life, I'd bet these guys would probably ask for his autograph instead.

I've supported Ingram since day 1, but wow.
I'm not even upset about the fumble, it's his ability to have a huge lane to the left, but run straight into the back of a lineman making a block in the open field. Someone get this man some glasses, he clearly has no depth perception.

well said. Nothing to do with fumbles. The experiment has run its course. When he ran into the lineman, today, that was it. I was done.

Hightower earned the starting back role today. Lets see if Ingram can get inspired now that he lost his starting gig. If nothing happens with Ingram deal him.

Ingram is paid a great deal in a win - lose industry where players are judged publicly and critically. It's not personal. Nobody is making negative comments about Mark Ingram the person. But Mark Ingram the player is fair game. And he is simply not the player that others named in the post above are. Ingram is an average player who was drafted much higher than he should have been.

Hightower is the better back for our system imo.

Ingram, at the right price, would be a nice piece to the overall ground game.
