JJ is a Probowl Corner. I feel much better about our secondary than I did when he wasn't on the roster. The fact that he is capable of making big stops and big plays excites me no matter what lineup we use him in. I like Apple as well. I just see it as a secondary upgrade. Lattimore, Apple, Jenkins, Johnson, Bell, Williams is a good secondary when DA figures out how to best use them. We ballin yall

I view this as a move that'll put the Saints over the hump. Now against the 49ers the Saints will have a big advantage. With the loss of their center the 49ers O-line looked like a mess. Atl was able to push around S.F and harass Jimmy G.

Last night the Saints D-line was able to pressure Brissett and secondary did a great job of covering the Colts receivers. Now add Janoris this will be a tough D for opponents to deal with, especially when KIKO gets back.

JJ does provide flexibility to employ new concepts. Apple and JJ at the edges and Lattimore as a roamer. JJ and Lattimore in man-press. Apple and Lattimore on the edge with PJ, CGJ in the dime and Bell/Williams deep. That's a pretty awesome chess board.

Yeah, I'd consider putting Lattimore in the slot on passing downs, with Apple and JJ on the boundaries. He's clearly the best of the group and the most flexible. Have CJGJ play slot on rushing downs, where JJ comes off the field.

Agreed, it's not a zero sum game. Everyone in the secondary could benefit from this signing. No one has to be cut or deactivated.

That said, I think we bring in Jenkins sparsely next week in low pressure situations. Let him get a feel for the system he's going to be working with.

Not even a little chance of that. Apple has played well, despite what some very narrow minded or non observant wannabe critics have stated. Jenkins, Apple, Lattimore, and Gardner-johnson give us the very best group of CBs in the league. When Bell is healthy, we have the best secondary in the league. Apple isn't going anywhere.

If y’all think Jenkins was signed for depth you clearly don’t know who he is...

A friend of mine is a big Giants fan. I asked him about Jenkins. He replied, “When he is focused, he is a very good CB. Can even be Pro Bowl caliber. That said, he does make "business decisions" on tackling sometimes...and can have occasional inconsistent games...but overall, very good.”

It all depends when he is healthy. Jenkins is still out with an ankle injury. Yes, there’s NO debate that his coverage skills are 100x’s better than Apple’s. That will never be debated. Apple will need to turn it around in a hurry. However, even if Apple was to be replaced at some point. He’ll still have a pretty significant role in our secondary

Apple hasn't even played below average in the last 6 weeks. It’s been a while since he was playing well. He played pretty solid the first 6 weeks

90% of the players in the league would make business decisions playing for a team as bad as the Giants have been the last couple years.

When healthy he’s one of the better cover corners in the entire league

Everyone wants to argue whose spot Jenkins takes. I don't look at it like that in today's NFL. Same as receivers with the whole WR1 or WR2 arguments. Its all about matchups. Having three starting caliber corners along with our other depth in the secondary will allow the coaches to play the matchups that are needed to get us over the hump. Its crunch time now. In the playoffs its the little things that make the difference in whether you move on or go home. This signing isn't about who beats our who, its about giving us the ammo to match up against anything any other team throws against us.
