Jeff Duncan on Sean Payton 2023 (2 Viewers)

I don’t know if he would come back or not (Scooter has to write stories, this might just be a work of fiction), but if Sean did come back, a lot of folks would have cartons of eggs on their face after they way they talked about him.

Me personally, I would love for Sean to come back, and will never hold a bad thought about that man.

If Payton does come back...

What do we do?

-We have to purge $60 Milly.
-No 1st round pick
-Super old team with pending suspensions
-No QB of the future

Payton would have to go back to staying to up 4 am every night to outcoach other teams with the talent deficit and still probably lose 7-10 games.

That's what got Payton burnt out in the 1st place.

SP would come back with Brady.. for 1 or 2 years and then move on to another team.

That's the only thing i see.

Fabrication is a big no no in journalism. The article says Payton is open to returning to the Saints if the situation presents itself.

The writer got this information by interviewing someone close to Payton, maybe even Payton himself.

I’d say it would be coming from a much different place, though.

And who knows? Maybe he does what he should have done with Taysom at QB in the first place: reshape the entire offense instead of just trying to squeeze him into the role that was already defined.

Yeah, we missed a golden opportunity to reshape the roster around Hill (when Brees retired). Nothing against Jameis, but if there was ever a time to see how a Lamar Jackson style offense would run (here in New Orleans), that would have been the time.

I didn't mean the business as a whole but rarely does someone return to the company within that business type.

Payton is still under contract with the Saints though.

I don’t think this piece by Scooter was anything more than an opinion piece.
"He’s available, ready to coach again and open to a return to New Orleans, if the situation presents itself."

This doesn't sound like an opinion though. It reads like someone told Duncan that Payton is open to coming back.

Maybe Duncan is being misled though, who knows.
