I see what you're getting at, but the court thing isn't a strong argument. I'm assuming that the "'almost' killing someone" part as attempted murder. In that case, someone was actually harmed and didn't die or someone had the intent to kill someone (and failed). I find it hard to believe that John had the intent to hit those pedestrians (if he did, then I don't want him on the team). I'm siding with NPs6724 on this one. Don't get me wrong, I don't think this situation should be taken lightly, but at the same time, neither of the pedestrians were harmed, so it shouldn't be taken to the other extreme either.
Hmm...they did not say anything about drinking.
I will, because I like our players for what they do on the field. He didn't hurt anyone else, I could care less what he does. Steve McNair got a DUI once, didn't mean he was a bad guy.
What??? All you have to do is look at the Steve Smith slugging-a-teammate posts and saying how bad of a guy he is. All it was was a freakin fight yet people made a mountain out of a molehill there and saying how he's a bad character guy. It's silly.
I just wish people would afford all players that get in trouble the benefit of the doubt that we give our own.
Just reading the report doesn't sound that bad. "Almost hit a pedestrian" is not the same as running someone over. And "weaving in traffic" is changing lanes twice, usually to pass a car and get back in the same lane.
"The get out the car place your hands on the hood" also seems greatly disrespectful if there is no reason or cause to do so.
From the preliminary report, I'm with Vilma on this one.
